Taylor Swift Fans Discover Hidden Connection to 13 at Travis Kelce’s Press Conference
The Swifties have uncovered yet another invisible connection between Taylor Swift and her partner, Travis Kelce.
Kelce, 35, addressed reporters during a press conference on Wednesday, August 6, coinciding with the Kansas City Chiefs’ 13th day of training camp. This marks the beginning of Kelce’s 13th season with the Chiefs.
Devoted fans of Swift, who is also 35, quickly recalled that the singer’s favorite number is famously 13.
“Someone in Kansas City deserves a raise! Are you telling me that Travis Kelce hasn’t spoken to the media all Training Camp, but his first interaction just HAPPENS to be on Day 13?” one fan remarked via X. “The Swifties have completely infiltrated the Chiefs media team!”
Another fan chimed in, “The Chiefs media knows exactly what they’re doing.”
During the press conference, Kelce didn’t mention his famous girlfriend but instead emphasized his unwavering focus on the upcoming NFL season.
“[I’m] trying to win Super Bowls, man,” he joked about his dedication during practices. “It’s the only way you get there, and it all begins in the offseason. You get out here to St. Joe, and arriving at training camp really signifies coming together—the chemistry and culture you need to keep improving every single day, every single week throughout the year.”
The tight end further noted that he “eats, breathes, and sleeps” football during training camp.
“I’ve been fortunate to be here for my 13th year now,” Kelce expressed. “I absolutely love this organization, the team, and the coaches. I know practically every defensive coach as well as all the offensive coaches, and vice versa with the players and the equipment staff. I genuinely enjoy coming into work daily.”
Kelce also commented on the leadership of his quarterback Patrick Mahomes, making a subtle reference to Swift.
“Being away this offseason and returning to training camp [illustrates] how quickly his mind is working,” Kelce remarked. “It’s like he’s always a step ahead, and his arm is very dynamic right now. It’s exciting to watch him understand the play and know where he’s headed before the snap. Additionally, he’s our biggest, fearless competitor.”
Fearless, notably, is also the title of one of Swift’s albums.
Swift and Kelce began their relationship in summer 2023 after a missed opportunity at her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City that July, alongside a mention on his “New Heights” podcast. They officially debuted as a couple during one of the Chiefs’ football games in September 2023, and Swift has since become a regular presence in the stands.
“When you say a relationship is public, it means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we support each other, and other people can see it—and we don’t mind,” Swift shared with TIME in a December 2023 profile. “The opposite would require so much effort to ensure no one knows about your relationship. We’re just proud of one another.”
Swift even supported Kelce at consecutive Super Bowls, celebrating his victory with the team in 2024 and consoling him after their championship game loss earlier this year.
