Taylor Swift Responds to Travis Kelce’s Shirtless Cameo in Happy Gilmore 2
Taylor Swift is a big fan of her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s appearance in Happy Gilmore 2, and she’s eager to share her thoughts.
On Friday, July 25, Swift, 35, posted the film’s poster on her Instagram Story along with a caption that only fans of the movie will decode.
“Happy Gilmore 2 had me laughing and cheering throughout!” she wrote. “A complete must-see, it’s a 13/10! Watch it on @netflix as soon as you can. 🍯.”
That’s indeed a honey emoji! For those who missed it, Kelce features in a dream sequence where Oscar, played by Bad Bunny, envisions his “happy place” (IYKYK). In the scene, a shirtless Kelce is covered in honey by Oscar.
“What’s going on here? Is this about the job?” Kelce asks, referencing Oscar’s earlier firing. As Oscar sensually spreads honey on him, a bear appears and attacks the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, prompting him to scream for assistance.
“I’m content now,” Oscar declares after realizing his fantasy.
“You were imagining a bear tackling that waiter, weren’t you? Was honey involved?” Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) asks playfully, to which Oscar responds, “Un poquito,” or “a little.”
Although the dream sequence didn’t end well for Kelce, he’s expressed excitement about appearing in Happy Gilmore 2, a sequel to Sandler’s 1996 golf comedy, which debuted on Netflix on Wednesday.
“That was a dream fulfilled. I thought SNL was going to be the highlight of my career in entertainment,” he reflected in a January interview on The Pat McAfee Show. “Collaborating with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman, and Happy Productions was an incredible experience.”
“They’re so professional yet enjoyable to work with. It felt like I was teaming up with the Andy Reid of acting,” he noted, alluding to the Chiefs’ coach. “[Sandler] is as cool off-screen as he is on, making it a dream come true. It truly was amazing.”
As for Sandler, 58, he humorously shared during an August 2024 episode of the “New Heights” podcast with Travis and his brother Jason Kelce that the entire movie was created as an opportunity to work with Travis.
“We were discussing you playing my son while we were writing it, literally, like, six months ago,” he remarked. “We thought, ‘How hilarious would it be if Travis was my first baby, just a total badass?’”
Happy Gilmore 2 is currently available on Netflix.
