The Bachelor’s Carolina Responds to Criticism Regarding Her Inquiry into Grant’s Relationship
Carolina Sofía is defending herself after her commitment to Grant Ellis‘s season of The Bachelor was questioned.
On February 17, just before the latest episode of the ABC series aired, Carolina, 29, took to Instagram to express her frustration when she voiced her desire for more one-on-one time with Grant.
“Heaven forbid you’re uncertain about a man you’ve only been on one date with,” Carolina wrote alongside a clip from the show where she faced off against her fellow contestants. The PR producer also shared posts from The Bachelor viewers regarding the ongoing drama.
“Why are the other girls acting like it’s insane that Carolina isn’t head over heels for Grant by week 4?” one post shared by Carolina read. Another viewer commented, “Why are we surprised that the entire day revolves around Carolina when all the girls have invested so much energy into disliking her, gossiping about her, and causing drama?”
In Monday’s episode, Carolina clashed with Juliana Pasquarosa for not appearing “grateful” enough for the time she had with Grant, 31. Having already been on a one-on-one date, Carolina joked about being selected for a group date this week, stating in front of the ABC cameras, “If I’m lucky, he’ll kiss someone right in front of me.”
Grant later gathered more insight from Juliana before questioning Carolina during the cocktail party. By the episode’s conclusion, it was ultimately Rose Sombke who left the show due to the ongoing discourse.
To recap, Carolina had previously mentioned that Rose claimed Grant was “thinking” of her while dancing with Carolina.
“She said that last week on our group date when Grant and I danced together, he told Rose that when he was dancing with me, he was thinking about her,” Carolina revealed during a confessional, before breaking down in tears. “Honestly, I feel cringey at this point… I’m not happy. I don’t want to go through all of this if I know I’m wasting my time.”
Grant told Carolina that was not true but his relationship with Rose took a knock. “I’m not going to sit here and lie. You’re someone I do think about,” Grant told Rose. “I just want to ensure you know that because I’m very interested in you. Even today, right? The whole dancing moment on stage, I was thinking about you. I don’t want you to feel like I’m not paying attention because I am.”
Although Rose received a rose (haha!) last week, she ultimately chose to exit the situation on Monday’s episode. “Your actions really set me back… you backstabbed me. You really did me dirty!” she cried on Monday. “I want to go home! I’ve reached my breaking point. It’s best for me to leave now.”
Despite the escalating tension during season 29, Grant recently told Us Weekly that he remains satisfied.
“I’m happy with life,” he expressed in January. “And I’m content with how things are unfolding.”
The Bachelor airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
