The Cast of The White Lotus Gathers for Season 3 Finale Celebration
Amid a whirlwind of emotions during the finale of The White Lotus season 3, the cast gathered with smiles as they reunited before the climactic episode.
Several cast members of the HBO series expressed their reactions to the episode’s surprising developments during a panel at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village in California on Sunday, April 6. After striking poses in a dazzling silver minidress by Rabanne, Aimee Lou Wood shared her thoughts on her character Chelsea’s shocking fate.
“It’s really weird, and it looked exactly how it felt [to shoot], which was really strange,” Wood, 31, remarked during the panel hosted by Tan France, according to Deadline. “It’s a lot, and it’s so clever, because at the end you want to hold the joy of the triumph … but you’re still there like ‘ehhh.’ It might just make you sit in that really achy place.”
In Sunday’s episode, Chelsea finds herself in the middle of a shootout between her boyfriend, Rick (Walton Goggins), and resort guards after Rick kills his father, Jim (Scott Glenn). In a desperate attempt to seek her help, an injured Rick meets his end, leaving Chelsea by his side.
Despite the tragic fate of her character, Wood emphasized that the episode carries “a lot of hope,” adding, “There was a lot of softness … I found it incredibly uncynical.”
