The Major Questions Regarding Virginia Giuffre’s Death
Virginia Giuffre’s heartbreaking death at age 41 has sparked concern among her family and the public.
On April 25, Giuffre’s family announced that the woman who accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse and trafficking had died by suicide in Australia.
“Giuffre lost her life to suicide, having been a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and trafficking,” her family stated in a message to People. “Virginia was a fierce advocate against sexual abuse and trafficking. She was a beacon of hope for many survivors. Despite the challenges she faced, her spirit remained bright. She will be deeply missed.”
The family honored Giuffre as “heroic” and expressed their wish for her to be remembered “for her immense bravery and compassionate spirit.”
“Ultimately, the burden of abuse became too heavy for Virginia to bear,” the statement concluded. “We find comfort in knowing she is now with the angels.”
In the wake of Giuffre’s death, many are seeking to understand the circumstances surrounding her tragic passing.

What Did Virginia Giuffre’s Final Note Say Before Her Death?
Before her passing, Giuffre seemingly left a handwritten note, which is thought to be directed at survivors of sexual assault.
“We are not going to fade away,” the note, shared by the Daily Mail on April 30, stated. “Families need to demonstrate that we stand united in the fight for victims’ futures.”
The note ended with, “Is protesting the solution — I don’t know, but we must start somewhere.”
Giuffre’s family believes the note was a message in advance of a rally in Washington D.C. on April 30, aimed at raising awareness about sexual assault.
What Was Virginia Giuffre’s Life Like Before Her Death?
A month prior to her death, Giuffre claimed to have been hit by a school bus traveling nearly 70 mph, resulting in doctors estimating she had only four days to live.
“This year has had the worst start for me,” she shared via Instagram on March 30.
Giuffre also appeared to be involved in a custody dispute with her estranged husband. They had three children aged 19, 16, and 15. Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, indicated that his sister struggled to maintain regular contact with her children.
“It’s an unbearable pain not being able to see your children,” Roberts told People on April 3. “Can you imagine the heartache? The physical pain pales in comparison to being separated from your children like that.”
Will Prince Andrew Acknowledge Virginia Giuffre’s Death?
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Giuffre’s former lawyer David Boies expressed his hope that Prince Andrew would eventually issue a statement regarding Giuffre’s passing.
“He needs to take responsibility for his actions,” Boies stated on the April 28 episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. “Virginia was always more focused on combating the sin than attacking the sinner, and I believe she would have accepted it if Prince Andrew acknowledged his accountability.”
During the discussion, Boies mentioned the two words he wishes to hear from Prince Andrew.
“I’d like him to say, ‘I’m sorry,’” he asserted. “I hope he will be more straightforward about it.” (Us Weekly reached out to Prince Andrew’s lawyer for comment post-interview.)
What Did Virginia Giuffre Accuse Prince Andrew Of?
Giuffre gained media attention in 2015 when her accusations against Prince Andrew were revealed in Epstein court documents.
According to Giuffre, Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her at Epstein’s New York residence in 2011. She also claimed he assaulted her during an “orgy” on Epstein’s private Caribbean island later that year. (Prince Andrew has denied these allegations.) Giuffre was 17 at the time of the alleged incidents.
What Did Prince Andrew Say at the Time About Virginia’s Claims?
He denied any misconduct and stated during a now-infamous November 2019 interview with the BBC that he couldn’t recall meeting Giuffre, despite a photograph of them together when she was underage. (Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in a New York City jail.)
Nearly three years later, Giuffre and Prince Andrew settled an out-of-court lawsuit for an undisclosed sum.
“Prince Andrew intends to make a significant donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity supporting victims’ rights,” the letter noted. “He never meant to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character and acknowledges that she has suffered as both a recognized victim of abuse and from unjust public attacks.”
“Prince Andrew regrets his connection to Epstein and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others,” the letter continued. “He vows to express his regret for his association with Epstein by contributing to the fight against the evils of sex trafficking and by supporting its victims.”
Will Virginia Giuffre’s Death Be Investigated?
Giuffre’s father, also named Sky Roberts, has requested an investigation into her death, as reported by TMZ. The grieving father pointed to previous social media posts from Giuffre indicating she had no suicidal thoughts.
“For them to claim she committed suicide is inconceivable,” Roberts stated during a May 1 appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored. “Somebody must have influenced her.”
Giuffre’s attorney, Karrie Louden, has also called for an investigation into her deceased client.
Louden mentioned to The Sun on April 28 that there are “significant uncertainties” surrounding her client’s passing.
