In spring 2024, Taylor and Daniel fell in love without seeing each other when the Netflix pods made their debut in Minneapolis, and the show was released a year later. After a seamless connection in the pods, the couple walked down the aisle and joyfully said “I do” during the season finale, remaining deeply in love.
“To say our journey has been anything short of dramatic would be an understatement,” Daniel expressed to Taylor in his wedding vows. “It’s hard to believe that just five weeks ago, I was getting down on one knee following our first date. My love for you comes from not only how you think and process things but also from the instant friendship we built. I can envision you as the mother of my children and my wife for life. This is it for me. I can see it clearly.”
He continued, “In the pods, you can only imagine what it would be like. But then I see you, and everything falls into place. That’s the essence of who you are and why I love you. I can truly envision our future together, and it excites me.”

A Quick Connection in the Pods
Taylor and Daniel were among the first dates in the pods, where she humorously requested he get down on one knee. After he did, they connected over shared values and their mutual love for Christmas.
Despite their immediate spark, Taylor nearly abandoned her pursuit of love when she became ill during filming.
“I almost left — I lost my voice for three days straight, and it was very frustrating,” she disclosed to Entertainment Weekly in February 2025. “My voice is my only tool here, and I struggled to speak. I was isolated from the other girls in the lounge, focusing on resting to recover my voice, so I felt like I was missing out.”
She added, “I started packing my bags, thinking, ‘If my voice doesn’t come back tomorrow, I’m going home,’ but thankfully, it did.”
The Proposal
Once her voice returned, Taylor continued to bond with Daniel, who proposed by the end of the 10-day pod experience.
“Honestly, I’ve loved being your boyfriend for these past two days — but I’m ready for you to be my fiancée,” he said. “So, I won’t wait any longer; I’m getting down on one knee again. My sweet Taylor, will you marry me?”
Taylor and Daniel met face to face only after she accepted his proposal.
The Social Media Aspect
After their reveal, Taylor sensed something was amiss, claiming that Daniel was aware of her appearance before the show began, suggesting he had followed her on Instagram beforehand. Daniel strongly refuted these allegations.

Introducing The Hastings
Taylor bravely overcame her doubts, allowing the couple to enjoy their engagement from the cast’s trip to Honduras leading up to their wedding. They were the only couple in season 8 to tie the knot in the season finale.
“I fell in love with your words [on our first date] and every day after that,” Taylor expressed in her vows. “We chose each other from that initial date, and I promise to keep choosing you for the entirety of our lives. You have given me a love I didn’t even know existed, but one I always prayed for.”
The Happy Ending
During the season 8 reunion, Taylor expressed that “the past year has been incredible” for the newlyweds.
“Daniel is my best friend; we’re always laughing, which was evident throughout the season,” Taylor stated during the reunion. “We truly enjoy each other’s company, and I can completely be myself around him, which is invaluable.”
Meanwhile, Daniel reinforced their bond by tattooing a representation of Taylor’s eyes on his chest.
“She has the most compassionate heart; she’s the kindest person I know,” Daniel shared at that moment. “I love experiencing her kindness each day, which she extends to everyone. March 2025
In a heartfelt birthday post, Daniel described Taylor as his “best friend.”
“Every day, we celebrate you, my sweet Taylor — the world is brighter, kinder, and better with you around. I love you! ❤️,” he wrote on Instagram on March 13.
Taylor, on her part, updated her social media handle to reflect Daniel’s last name.
Two months later, Taylor and Daniel celebrated their marriage again.
“Yesterday, we said ‘I do’ again during a vow renewal, dancing the night away with 400 of our favorite people,” they shared in a joint Instagram post on May 31. “What a gift it is to choose each other continually.”
