Top 5 Prime Video Movies to Watch in December 2025, Ranked by Rotten Tomatoes Scores
Typically, finding new films with a high Rotten Tomatoes rating of around 90 can be quite challenging.
However, in December, Prime Video offers a wealth of choices, with even more coming soon.
To ensure these gems don’t slip through the cracks, Watch With Us has curated a list of the five top-rated movies to catch on Prime Video this December 2025, based on Rotten Tomatoes rankings.
This selection includes two distinct sports dramas, a romantic comedy, a zombie comedy, and one of 2025’s standout films.
5. ‘Bull Durham’ (1988)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 89 percent
The ’80s brought us two iconic baseball dramas, with Kevin Costner starring in both. While Field of Dreams is more widely recognized, Bull Durham delivers a more grounded narrative. Costner plays Lawrence “Crash” Davis, a veteran minor league catcher aiming for one last shot at the majors after a brief stint there. As his playing days dwindle, Crash is tasked with mentoring a promising pitcher, Ebby Calvin “Nuke” Laloosh (Tim Robbins), whose MLB future seems inevitable.
Jealousy brews within Crash, especially as the younger player captures the affection of Annie Savoy (Susan Sarandon), who views baseball as her religion and has a history of choosing winning players for relationships. However, she feels a deeper connection with Crash than with Nuke, leading to undeniable chemistry between them.
Bull Durham is available now on Prime Video.
4. ‘Hoosiers’ (1986)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92 percent
Hoosiers draws inspiration from a true story, focusing on a small Indiana high school basketball team that had an unforgettable playoff run. Gene Hackman plays Norman Dale, the new coach stepping in after the previous coach’s sudden death. His debut is rocky as the star player, Jimmy Chitwood (Maris Valainis), leaves the team to grieve.
Norman faces clashes with both players and faculty, particularly Myra Fleener (Barbara Hershey), while the community struggles to accept him. He also takes steps to offer a shot at redemption to the father of one of his players, Wilbur “Shooter” Flatch (Dennis Hopper). However, the pressure to perform could cost Norman his job.
Hoosiers is currently streaming on Prime Video.
3. ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ (1994)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92 percent
If you thought advertising was misleading, you clearly haven’t seen Four Weddings and a Funeral. It features precisely four weddings and one funeral, though not necessarily in that sequence. The first wedding is where Charles (Hugh Grant) meets Carrie (Andie MacDowell), an American on an adventure in England.
While they click immediately, fate seems to keep pulling them apart as they run into each other at subsequent weddings. Are they destined to forever miss the chance to be together? This rom-com is sure to leave audiences smiling.
Four Weddings and a Funeral is available on Prime Video.
2. ‘Zombieland’ (2009)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 97 percent
Zombieland earned critical acclaim for its talented cast, hilarious humor, and unexpected emotional depth. In a world overrun by a zombie virus, Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has established survival strategies and rules.
When Columbus teams up with a formidable zombie hunter named Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), they cross paths with sisters Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin). Columbus is instantly attracted to Wichita, but given the sisters have their own tricks up their sleeves, trust becomes a fragile commodity.
Zombieland is available on Prime Video.
1. ‘Sinners’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 97 percent
Ryan Coogler‘s Sinners is such a compelling watch that Oscar nominations are highly likely. This horror film strikes a chord with its sharp storytelling, featuring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as the Smokestack twins, Elijah “Smoke” Moore and Elias “Stack” Moore. Having traversed the dangers of World War I and Chicago’s gangland, they now aspire to breach prohibition laws and run a juke joint in their hometown.
The twins’ musically talented cousin, Samuel “Sammie” Moore (Miles Caton), along with seasoned performer Delta Slim (Delroy Lindo), manage to draw in a solid crowd. However, that crowd includes Remmick (Jack O’Connell), a vampire who preys on attendees. Soon, Smoke and Stack’s patrons are being swiftly transformed into vampires, placing them in imminent danger.
Sinners will be available on Prime Video starting December 26.
