Top New Series to Check Out on Netflix, Max, Prime Video, Hulu, and More
How do you improve upon perfection? Season 2 of The White Lotus treated us to Aubrey Plaza casually glancing at Theo James’ prosthetic assets, Meghann Fahy delivering a brilliant performance with minimal dialogue, and Jennifer Coolidge declaring that the gays were out to get her — and she was correct. But trust in Mike White, the mastermind behind HBO’s acclaimed series; he knows exactly what he’s doing.
For Season 3 of The White Lotus, he has curated yet another diverse cast, reintroducing Natasha Rothwell as Belinda Lindsey, the iconic ‘90s indie star Parker Posey in the role of a lobotomized mother, along with Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan as a trio of sharp-tongued best friends. Adding to the mix is a Schwarzenegger kid (Patrick), a Harry Potter veteran (Jason Isaacs), and Lisa from Blackpink, creating a lineup that nearly compensates for the absence of Coolidge (RIP Tanya).
They all find themselves at a lavish resort in Thailand, and as always with The White Lotus, there’s more at play than merely indulging in spa treatments. Following the trend of previous seasons, the story kicks off with a flash-forward and a dead body, crafting a complex narrative that unfolds the mystery of who it is and how they met their fate.
