Tristan Thompson’s son Prince is excited about being a third grader.
On his first day of third grade, Thompson, 34, took Prince, 8, to school, sharing a rare video on the basketball star’s Instagram account on Wednesday, August 13. The video begins with Thompson allowing Prince to ride in the passenger seat before transitioning to them walking down a sidewalk together.
“You heading to school?” Thompson asked Prince, whom he shares with ex Jordan Craig. “There you go, big third grade. What are you looking forward to the most?”
Prince replied, “Getting a Chromebook because you can bring them home and to school.”
When asked about other things he’s excited for, Prince mentioned, “You can get prizes in third grade.”
In another clip, Prince enthusiastically ran up the steps to his school.
Fans left cheerful messages in the comments section wishing Prince good luck for the new school year.
“Go crush it Prince!” one user commented, while another added, “Have fun at school 👩🏫🎒🏫.”
Others also praised Thompson for being a great dad.
“Awesome Dad! Keep up the great work 👍 👏 💛💛,” a third fan remarked.
“Proud of you TT❤️🙌,” another user chimed in.
In addition to Prince, Thompson has a daughter named True, 7, and a son named Tatum, 3, with Khloé Kardashian, along with son Theo, 3, with Maralee Nichols.
The video was shared just weeks after Thompson posted images of Tatum, True, and Prince celebrating Tatum’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse-themed 3rd birthday party. Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s daughter, Dream, 8, was also among the snapshots.
“Big hugs and kisses for my little Tatum’s Bday! I Love you forever young king 🤴 ❤️🎈,” Thompson wrote in the caption. “This is just the beginning; more pics to come 🤫.”
The post featured photos of Tatum enjoying birthday cake while Prince smiled at the camera.
The party showcased a balloon arch welcoming guests with a banner reading, “Tatum’s Clubhouse.” Additional balloon arches adorned the pool area, with several inflatable tubes floating in the water. A few Disney characters, including Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, joined the festivities.
“My kids, nieces, and nephews party the hardest. LFG!!! 🎉🥳🎈🎊,” Thompson captioned a collection of videos from the celebration.
Most recently, Thompson has shared clips of himself enjoying time with True and Dream. In a video from August 2, he danced with his daughter to the Kidz Bop version of Bruno Mars and Rosé’s song, “Apt.”
“Just out here dancing through the weekend with my twinny 👧🏽💗🤞🏾,” Thompson wrote.
Similarly, in a video on August 9, he took True and Dream out for ice cream after picking them up from summer camp.
While enjoying his role as a father, Thompson has previously expressed concerns that his children might be “embarrassed” by some of his life choices.
“It wasn’t until I truly had to confront myself. I never had to hold myself accountable. We’re taught, ‘Be the man, do what you please, bros before hoes … ‘” Thompson said in a 2023 episode of The Kardashians. “You’ve got to be your own man and not care what others think or seek validation from them.”
He added, “True is starting to understand things, and Prince gets it too with their classmates. The last thing I’d want is for them to feel embarrassed to have me as their father. Throughout this journey, especially after losing my mom, I always question, ‘Why do things that can hurt others?’”
