TV Shows Renewed for 2025-2026: What’s Coming Back for Additional Seasons?
The year 2025 is shaping up to be significant for television — but which shows are confirmed to return for additional seasons?
Apple TV+ surprised audiences by renewing Bad Monkey after its conclusion left the series’ future uncertain. Based on the novel by Carl Hiaasen, Bad Monkey tells the story of former police detective Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), who finds himself demoted to a restaurant inspector before becoming entangled in a murder investigation when a severed arm is discovered in the water.
Although Bad Monkey seemed to tie up all loose ends, there remained a glimmer of hope. Natalie Martinez, who portrays Rosa a.k.a Yancy’s love interest, revealed to Us Weekly in October 2024 that “the possibilities are endless,” addressing the shocking breakup faced by the main couple onscreen.
“There’s a lot of love between Rosa and Yancy. He’s supported her in countless ways, and there’s definitely a strong friendship,” she stated. “They hold a great fondness for each other, and at that moment he says, ‘It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.’ I think there are endless possibilities for them moving forward — they’re critically involved in each other’s pivotal moments.”
Rivals on Hulu is another series set to continue its narrative. Season 1 introduced viewers to a feud between two men vying for control of a television station in 1980s Britain. However, it was the age disparity romance between Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella MacLean) — along with Declan’s (Aidan Turner) involvement — that captivated the audience.
“I’m really intrigued. There are so many obstacles ahead, and Rupert is deeply conflicted morally. I’m curious about what lies ahead for Taggie,” MacLean exclusively told Us in December 2024 regarding Rupert and Taggie’s prospects. “It’s bound to be much more tumultuous, but what that signifies for Taggie is fascinating. There are countless ideas circulating. We need to get season 2 underway quickly.”
