TV Stars Who Portrayed High School Students After Graduating
From Chase Stokes to Nicola Coughlan, numerous TV stars have portrayed teenagers long after surpassing that age group.
In reality, TV shows frequently opt for older actors to take on roles that could be challenging for genuine high school students due to schedule conflicts. Additionally, certain restrictions complicate the casting process when trying to incorporate young stars.
“This is largely due to labor laws. The number of hours children are permitted to work is highly limited, which constrains the time producers can have young actors on set,” casting director Todd Thaler conveyed to Vice in May 2017. “Within those restricted hours, part of the time allotted is reserved for education, rest, and meals.”
Nonetheless, casting older actors for teenage parts introduces its own challenges.
