Vanessa Hudgens: A Life Captured in Photos Through the Years
Singing marked the beginning of a lifelong journey for Vanessa Hudgens.
From the age of 4, Hudgens immersed herself in singing and musical theater. She took part in local productions of The Wizard of Oz, The Music Man, and Cinderella, eventually landing the role of Gabriella Montez in the Disney Channel series High School Musical. Between her film projects, she also released studio albums V (2006) and Identified (2008).
Post-Disney, Hudgens appeared in films like Sucker Punch (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), and Netflix’s The Princess Switch trilogy. She continued her stage performances and featured in Fox’s live musical presentations, including Grease Live! (2016) and Rent: Live (2019).
In May 2024, it was announced that the actress had won season 11 of The Masked Singer. During the season premiere, Hudgens hinted at her illustrious career while under the guise of Goldfish.
“When I first started out, I made a splash overnight. But all that success made me feel like I was living in a fishbowl, with everyone’s eyes and expectations on me,” she remarked during the event.
After being unmasked, Hudgens shared her thoughts on the competition, saying, “I never knew that this would give me the freedom to purely just do something that I love.”
“I grew up doing musical theater,” she told E! News after her significant victory. “I’ve been doing it almost my entire life. All those hours don’t just disappear. I got to bring that with me into my ongoing work. And this was a wonderful and exciting opportunity to share that.”
