Viral Star Abella Danger Shares Insights on QB Fernando Mendoza’s Future
Porn star Abella Danger has commented on the NFL prospects of Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who became an unexpected viral sensation during the National Championship Game.
“He’s incredibly quick, powerful, and intentional in everything he does,” Danger, 30, told Vegas Sports Today in an interview released on Saturday, January 24.
When asked about rumors that the Las Vegas Raiders might select Mendoza, 22, as the franchise’s number-one pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, she expressed her hopes. “I hope he does [join the Raiders]… The Raiders would be fortunate to have him,” she stated. “The question is whether he’ll play his first season after being drafted. I certainly hope he does; the world is eager to see more of that kid. He’s undeniably talented.”
Mendoza surprised many by declaring his eligibility for the NFL draft on Thursday, January 22, after three seasons of college football. He initially redshirted with the California Golden Bears before transferring to the Hoosiers in 2025.
“Coming to Indiana was a leap of faith that led to a 16-0 record with my teammates and a National Championship, bringing me to this moment where I can dream even bigger,” Mendoza shared on social media on Friday. “I extend my gratitude to my family, teammates who pushed me, and coaches who believed in me.”
He continued, “I’m here today thanks to your support and the glory of God. With confidence in my foundation and appreciation for everyone who has helped me reach this moment, I am ready to take the next step. My LinkedIn profile now reads ‘Open to Work,’ as I declare for the 2026 NFL Draft.”
Mendoza further discussed his NFL goals on Good Morning America on Friday, January 23, expressing gratitude for any team that drafts him. He also addressed rumors about the Raiders, co-owned by NFL legend Tom Brady, being interested in making him their first pick in April.
“It would truly be a dream come true,” he said with excitement.
Meanwhile, Danger had the opportunity to observe Mendoza closely when her Miami Hurricanes faced off against the Indiana Hoosiers and lost the National Championship, 27-21, on Monday, January 19.
Danger went viral during the game when ESPN captured her tense reactions during various breaks. A lifelong Miami Hurricanes fan, she is currently pursuing a law degree at the university.
After the match, Danger was visibly emotional as celebrations for the Hurricanes commenced at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
“I hate this! I hate this,” she exclaimed amid fireworks.
As she left the stadium, Danger maintained a positive attitude despite her team’s heartbreaking loss to the Hoosiers.
“Even in defeat, I stand proud,” she assured her followers. “That game proved that no other team deserved a shot at the national title more than Miami. Everyone doubted us. I don’t care if we lost; those players were the best of the best. No one else deserved that spot.”
She asserted, “That wasn’t a blowout. It was a fierce contest. The only reason I’m upset is for the players who worked tirelessly all season. They’re still champions in my eyes.”
At that moment, Danger appeared unaware of her viral status from ESPN’s coverage, becoming the focus of numerous memes and funny tweets related to watching the game with mixed audiences.
“Guys watching the game with their wives had to pretend they didn’t know who Abella Danger was when she appeared on screen,” joked one viewer on X.
Another added, “Shoutout to the guy who exclaimed ‘Holy s*** that’s Abella Danger’ during the National Championship and faced the couch for the rest of the night.”
Later, Danger publicly apologized for her appearance on ESPN, stating to TMZ, “I would give anything to have avoided being filmed by ESPN, and I am sincerely sorry to anyone I offended by being there. I wish to have been just another student supporting my team.”
Danger is expected to graduate from the University of Miami in December 2026.
