What occurred last week in Season 3, Episode 7?

Episode 7 began to explore themes of violence, incorporating visuals of a Muay Thai fight that various characters have been alluding to all season.

Rick (Walton Goggins) and Frank (Sam Rockwell) engage with Sritala Hollinger (Patravadi Mejudhon) and her husband, Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn), under the pretense of discussing a potential role in an upcoming film.

Rick subsequently takes Jim aside to discuss matters, pulling a gun on him while expressing that Jim has ruined his life and questioning if he remembers his father or mother, Gloria Hatchett. Despite having “fantasized about this moment a thousand times,” Rick ends up unable to pull the trigger and merely shoves Jim over in his chair before fleeing with Frank, discarding the gun as they exit.

The duo, still in Bangkok, indulge in dancing and drinking, with Frank breaking his sobriety. Meanwhile, Rick ignores numerous phone calls from Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood). Back at the resort, Chelsea attends a dinner party hosted by Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and Greg (Jon Gries). Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) brings her son, Zion (Nicholas Duvernay), along with Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), Victoria (Parker Posey), and Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) to the gathering.

During the dinner, Saxon notices his father exhibiting unusual behavior, attributed to heavy medication, and confides in Timothy about lacking hobbies or interests beyond his work with his father. He expresses concern over their family’s business, but Timothy chooses to withhold the truth, assuring Saxon that everything is fine.

Greg pulls Belinda aside, admitting they have a history together. He insists he didn’t kill Tanya and offers her $100,000 to keep quiet about his whereabouts, but Belinda chooses to leave the party with Zion, who suggests she take the money.

Chloe invites Saxon to stay the night, claiming Greg has an odd fantasy stemming from childhood trauma about catching her cheating. Saxon is uncomfortable with the notion and decides to walk Chelsea home instead.

Chelsea expresses her belief that she and Rick are destined soulmates, a blend of hope and pain. Saxon inquires about connecting on a spiritual level, leading them to her room for meditation. However, when their hands touch, she recoils, requesting him to leave so she can call Rick again.

Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) and Lochlan (Sam Nivola), who opted to spend the night at the monastery, find themselves with differing sentiments about their experiences. Surprisingly, Piper isn’t as pleased with her time there as anticipated, while Lochlan is enamored with it, expressing his desire to stay for a year. Piper is less enthusiastic about this idea.

Meanwhile, Kate (Leslie Bibb), Laurie (Carrie Coon), and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) have dinner at the resort, with Fabian (Christian Friedel) finally performing for the guests. This marks the first significant confrontation among the women. Jaclyn and Laurie address tensions directly, with Kate siding with Jaclyn. Laurie ultimately departs to attend the Muay Thai fight alone, meeting Valentin (Arnas Fedaravičius), Aleksei (Julian Kostov), and Vlad (Yuri Kolokolnikov) there.

Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) and Mook (Lalisa Manobal) are at the fight together. Gaitok informs Mook that he won’t be receiving the promotion due to a perceived lack of “killer instinct.” Mook urges him to embrace it, asserting that violence is part of human nature. Gaitok then spots Vlad and recognizes him from the robbery, realizing that Valentin had deliberately stalled him for the resort heist.

Later that night, Laurie spends the night with Aleksei and afterwards, he requests $10,000 to help bring his mother from Russia. Laurie declines and sneaks out as a girl bursts into Aleksei’s room seeking proof of his infidelity. While leaving, Laurie notices the stolen jewelry.

The episode wraps up with the Ratliffs as Timothy searches for his gun, only to realize it’s missing. Despite his frantic search, he comes up empty.

What’s coming in Season 3, Episode 8?

While details for Episode 8 have been kept under wraps, the teaser trailer provides eager viewers with a few hints to speculate about the conclusion.

In the trailer, Timothy is seen questioning Pam (Morgana O’Reilly) about the poisonous fruit trees at the resort, which she refers to as the “suicide tree.”

Belinda informs Zion and Greg that she’ll refrain from an activity, deeming it “a waste of time,” before asking Zion to leave with her. Gaitok then tells his supervisor that he has something to report, which raises questions about the robbery.

When Chelsea and Rick reconnect, she expresses her love for him once more, urging him not to act recklessly. Rick reassures her of his safety.

Jaclyn questions someone off-screen (likely Kate) about Laurie’s whereabouts. This shifts to a scene of Jaclyn and Kate bonding while Laurie observes from a distance.

Victoria states that no one has lived as well as the Ratliffs, followed by rapid shots of Saxon’s blender, a crashing wave, and Timothy declaring, “I love you so much.”

The trailer concludes with a collage of intense moments, featuring a frightened Zion, an angry Frank, Gaitok running, a body bag, and Pam wishing Timothy to “have a wonderful last day.”
