What’s Going On Between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes After ‘Celebrity Big Brother’?
While “Celebrity Big Brother” may have selected a winner, the drama is far from finished.
Two contestants, JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes, generated significant interest during the show, which captures the lives of participants 24/7 over three weeks, broadcasting the events live.
Some fans believed their friendship could be more, despite Siwa entering the Big Brother House alongside a partner.

Speculation heightened after Siwa’s previous partner, Kath Ebbs, stated in a now-deleted TikTok that Siwa broke up with her at the “Celebrity Big Brother” after party on April 25, which Siwa confirmed.
But is there any truth to this speculation? What’s truly happening between Siwa and Hughes? Here’s what they’ve both shared.

What’s happening between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes?
Siwa and Hughes connected on the “Celebrity Big Brother” set, quickly developing a close friendship. Notably, Hughes stood up for Siwa against homophobic remarks made by housemate Mickey Rourke.
During this incident, Siwa revealed that she was in a “very happy relationship.”
Fans documented their growing friendship in real time, sharing clips of them cuddling while discussing their bond, writing messages on each other’s hands, joking about starting a family, relaxing in a hot tub, and joking while passing notes and sharing their happiness with each other, along with Hughes giving Siwa a friendly kiss on the cheek.
As their time on “Big Brother” concluded, Siwa expressed her complex emotions while in tears.
She described feeling “very confused” and added, “I feel guilty for how happy I’ve been. Like, I’ve been so happy.”
What have Siwa and Ebbs said regarding their breakup?
Ebbs remarked in a TikTok video, which she later deleted, that Siwa ended their relationship at the wrap party for “Celebrity Big Brother.”
Siwa acknowledged the breakup during an appearance with Hughes on ITV’s This Morning on April 28.
“I’ll be honest, that was not a plan,” Siwa stated. “That was not intended, it wasn’t supposed to unfold that way.”
“Initially, I was told that the wrap party was something they didn’t wish to attend. Then about an hour into it, they changed their mind, and I intended to have a conversation first, and it just escalated from there,” Siwa added.
Siwa mentioned that Ebbs directly asked if she was happy, to which Siwa replied no.
“One thing led to another, and that discussion took place then,” she explained.
On “The Viall Files” on April 30, Siwa reiterated that her friendship with Hughes was unrelated to their breakup.
“There are numerous factors that contributed to my breakup. Christopher is not one of them,” Siwa expressed. “I even told Kath, ‘Maybe it would be simpler if he were!’ But he isn’t, so if you’re going to tell the story, tell it accurately. Don’t suggest I cheated on you with him because I haven’t… I would never.”
She further detailed her realization of unhappiness in the relationship, noting that during the “Big Brother” wrap party, she voiced her feelings.
“After the 16th time someone asks, ‘Are you happy? Do you want to end things?’ you’re bound to spill your thoughts. I honestly said, ‘If you ask me tomorrow, I don’t know. But if you ask me right now, my answer is yes,’” Siwa noted. “And that was interpreted correctly, it was indeed a yes.”
Where do Siwa and Hughes stand now?
On “This Morning” April 28, Siwa and Hughes addressed the rumors about them being more than just friends.
In short, they affirmed it’s not the case. Hughes described their connection as a “soul mate friendship.”
“It’s that unique dynamic that differs from standard friendships — yet, we are still just friends,” he explained.
When asked about any desire for more, Siwa replied, “Listen, he’s a wonderful guy. Our relationship is platonic. We had a blast together. Life is unpredictable. I’m truly thankful for our bond and whatever future holds is out of our control.”
On “The Useless Hotline Podcast,” also released on April 28, Siwa emphasized their friendship.
“I want to clarify, Chris and I are merely friends. He’s an amazing person I’m fortunate to have in my life. We share a very special bond, a beautiful friendship which I highly value.”
Outside the House, Siwa shared an Instagram reel featuring highlights from the show, set to Dirty Dancing’s “I’ve Had the Time of My Life,” many of which included Hughes. In her caption, she noted it as “one of my favorite experiences in my life.”
“I’ve gained a lot of personal insight from the Big Brother House and wouldn’t alter a thing about this journey,” she added. “I wish I could relive it repeatedly.”
Since the finale aired on April 25, Hughes and Siwa have been quick to organize meet-ups. They were spotted together at a pub and playing tennis.
