What’s Next for Tony Terraciano After Andrew’s Recasting on Blue Bloods?

Tony Terraciano and Andrew Terraciano portrayed Donnie Wahlberg‘s onscreen sons in Blue Bloods. However, what has happened to the actor who played Jack Reagan since his brother was recast in the Boston Blue spinoff?

The CBS series, which debuted in 2010, chronicled the Reagan family’s lives, many of whom served in the NYPD under the guidance of NYC Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Frank’s father, Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), was also pivotal to the narrative, alongside Frank’s children: daughter Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and sons Danny (Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).

Wahlberg portrayed Frank’s eldest son, a police detective who was formerly married to Linda Rose Reagan (Amy Carlson), with whom he had two sons, Jack (Tony) and Sean (Andrew), prior to her passing.

Fans witnessed Jack and Sean grow up on screen, so many were taken aback when CBS greenlit the Boston Blue spinoff, which delved into Danny’s relationship with his youngest—with a twist. Before Blue Bloods launched in October, the Sean role was recast with newcomer Mika Amonsen.

“On the day I graduated, someone called me—after talking to my mom, who was in tears. They told me, ‘They might be searching for a different Sean,’” Andrew revealed to Us Weekly in December 2025 regarding the change. “Not long after, Donnie reached out. It was a touching moment to hear from someone I respect so much and learned from.”

Andrew expressed appreciation for his experiences on Blue Bloods.

“It’s wonderful because each line and every day spent as that character will be a cherished memory,” he remarked about his time on the beloved CBS show. “That doesn’t imply that someone else can’t create something wonderful with it.”

He went on: “I had the privilege of portraying Sean and sending him off into the world. Now, someone else has that opportunity. We’re both demonstrating our abilities and sending Sean out into the world.”

Currently, Andrew is concentrating on his education as he pursues his Master’s while nurturing his passion for acting.

“I recently helped produce a friend’s short film, and I look forward to every acting opportunity that arises,” he shared. “Once you have a passion, it’s hard to let go of it; I want to continue acting and creating in any way I can. I would love to be an actor for my entire life. Also, as a huge Star Wars fan, I’d be thrilled to be involved in that universe. I’d love to try out a sitcom too.”

While Amonsen is now portraying Sean, his older brother Jack has not yet made an appearance in the series. Tony has stayed quiet about his prospects in the franchise, not posting on social media or engaging in new roles since Blue Bloods.

Jack’s appearances on Blue Bloods dwindled before the final season as Tony began attending Vanderbilt University in 2018, where he studied neuroscience and was pre-med before graduating in 2022. He then proceeded to medical school to obtain his Doctor of Medicine, with graduation slated for 2026.
