When Does The Neighborhood Conclude on CBS? Series Finale Date Announced

As fans prepare to bid farewell to The Neighborhood after eight seasons on CBS, emotions are running high.

The series is set to wrap up with its final episode on May 18. Beth Behrs took to social media a month ahead of the finale to commemorate this significant moment for the cast and crew.

“Playing Gemma for eight years — through marriage, global pandemics, two strikes, motherhood and all the other bits of life — has been a tremendous gift, thanks to this amazing cast and crew,” Behrs, 40, expressed in her post.

She added, “Laughing with you every day has brought me immense joy. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have tuned in on CBS over the years. We are truly grateful! THAT’S A WRAP!”

Accompanying her post, Behrs shared images of a wedding and scenes of a home being packed up.

The Neighborhood debuted in 2018, centering on a white Midwestern family navigating life in a predominantly Black neighborhood in California. Alongside Behrs, the show features Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Tichina Arnold, Sheaun McKinney, and Marcel Spears.

CBS announced in 2025 that The Neighborhood would return for its eighth and final season. Greenfield later spoke with Us about finding a silver lining in the ending.

“This will be our eighth and final season. In today’s landscape, very few shows reach eight seasons, and there might never be another. We might be the last one,” Greenfield, 46, shared with Us last year. “So I’m genuinely not sad about this ending; I’m thankful for the eight seasons we had. We’ve been through so much together, including a pandemic and multiple strikes. It’s been quite a roller-coaster.”

Greenfield hinted that The Neighborhood is concluding on a high note.

“Reaching this point and being able to say goodbye the way we want is a wonderful gift,” he continued. “I’m excited for a fun final season where we all recognize the show’s fate and enjoy the time with each other after seven-plus years.”

Cedric the Entertainer, 61, also reflected on the show’s journey, acknowledging the ups and downs behind the scenes.

“We faced unique adversities on this show compared to others. The strikes [WGA and SAG-AFTRA] and COVID presented numerous challenges, raising questions like, ‘How do you keep a show together? How do you keep a cast motivated?’” Cedric the Entertainer told Us in May 2025.

Creative changes were necessary as well. “We had to switch executive producers and writers multiple times,” Cedric the Entertainer shared. “The primary lesson I’ve learned is to stay steady, focused, and to recognize that adversity can present opportunities for greater victories.”

He concluded, “Trusting the process is crucial — sometimes it seems like tragedy is unfolding, but looking beyond can reveal the wins on the other side. That’s the biggest takeaway for me.”

Greenfield emphasized the cast’s commitment to delivering a fitting conclusion for their dedicated audience.

“We want to create an ending that feels complete for the fans who welcomed us into their homes every week. It’s essential for them to feel satisfied with the finale,” the New Girl alum told Us. “We don’t want a disappointing ending like in Game of Thrones where fans feel let down. Our main goal is to ensure our audience thinks, ‘That was a great conclusion.’”

The Neighborhood airs on CBS on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and is available for streaming the following day on Paramount+.
