Where Susie Evans and Ex Justin Glaze Stand Post-Bachelor in Paradise

Susie Evans is shedding light on her experiences as a contestant on Bachelor in Paradise and her current relationship with ex Justin Glaze.

During the Thursday, July 17, episode of the “Viall Files” podcast, Susie, 31, reflected on Justin’s unexpected rose ceremony offer, which she turned down. Justin, also 31, eventually left the show but gave his rose to Jill Chin to protect her from elimination.

“I just felt so bad. I was like, ‘I’m so sorry,’” Susie shared, explaining that she was unaware Justin would depart if she didn’t accept the rose. “That’s why I felt so sick [to my stomach].”

Now, Susie and Justin are on “really good terms,” and she has also spoken with Lexi Young, whom Justin tried to connect with in Costa Rica.

“I’ve talked with Justin. I’ve talked with Lexi. I adore them both. They are both wonderful people. Good vibes all around,” she expressed.

Prior to her exit from the show, Susie went on a date with Jeremy Simon, but he opted to give his rose to Bailey Brown. Following the rose ceremony, Jeremy, 31, reconsidered his choice when Bailey, 28, joined newcomer Andrew Spencer for a date. He called Susie, asking her to return, but she claimed she was at the airport and wouldn’t come back.

Susie mentioned that she was asleep and traveling when she received the call, calling the moment “great television.”

“I think people really want to stay on the show. I did. I really wanted to be there,” Susie said. “A part of my disappointment was that I had so much fun. It may seem like I’m crying, but I’ve seen comments saying, ‘You were just crying over Justin the whole time you were there.’ No, my tears came from feeling like, ‘Oh, I’m going home. You sent me in with an umbrella. Nobody was excited to see me.’”

Nothing ignites drama quite like exes on the beach. Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise brings back former couple Justin Glaze and Susie Evans, who dated off-screen after their respective appearances on season 17 of The Bachelorette and season 26 of The Bachelor. “The question is, ‘Is Justin really over his ex?’” bartender Wells […]

Susie realized “as soon” as she entered the show that it was not going to be “what [she] thought it was,” leading to her “real disappointment.”

“When I started crying that night — firstly, I’m beginning the process of getting my eggs frozen. I had just received some information prior to arriving there. I had shared that — but that didn’t make the cut. Not that I would want it to,” she explained. “I had communicated that with Justin. He knows I’m going through this process. Then, when he asked how I was doing, I just burst into tears because I felt like, ‘I’m going home. There’s no one here for me.’”

Susie humorously commented that the “pickings were slim” regarding the men on the beaches of Costa Rica, revealing she was informed beforehand about someone she should consider pursuing — which she suspects might have been Dale Moss. (In the most recent rose ceremony aired earlier this week, Dale, 36, gave his rose to Kat Izzo.)

“I think he’s the person they mentioned to me before going. They were like, ‘There’s someone coming that we think you’re going to really hit it off with,’” she recalled. “I was eager to learn more. They said ‘He’s older. He has a real job.’ … I assumed there were multiple people, but upon arrival, I realized, ‘Oh, this is who they meant, but he’s occupied.’”

Bachelor in Paradise airs on ABC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
