Which Ransom Canyon Couple Shot a Cut Sex Scene on Top of a Car?
Ransom Canyon was already packed with steamy scenes, so we were quite taken aback — and a bit disappointed — to discover that even more sultry moments were left on the cutting room floor.
In a recent exclusive chat with Us Weekly, Garrett Wareing, Andrew Liner, and Lizzy Greene reminisced about specific scenes that didn’t make the final cut.
“Just a few sex scenes,” Wareing, 23, who portrays Lucas, teased. “Sorry folks, we’ll have to wait for season 2.”
Greene, 21, chuckled while recalling an on-screen moment, saying, “There was a scene between Garrett and me on a car. Maybe it was best that it never aired. It was from the first episode, and they decided to cut it.”
However, that wasn’t the only interaction between Lucas and Lauren that was left out.
“There was a really endearing scene with us in the back of a truck at Double K Ranch, which was very sweet and romantic. We were discussing art and dreams of traveling to Paris,” Wareing recounted, to which Liner, 24, humorously responded, “Sorry, you guys have enough romantic moments. I’m over here dying.”
Based on the book series by Jodi Thomas, Ransom Canyon depicts a small Texas town filled with drama, romance, and hope. Streaming now, the show introduces several love triangles, particularly the tension between Lucas (Wareing) and Reid (Liner) over Lauren’s (Greene) affection.
“Season 1 sets up love triangles all around, allowing the audience to choose their favorites,” Greene shared with Us. “We’re also really hopeful for another season, allowing our writers to gauge what the audience loves and delve deeper in season 2.”
Greene expressed optimism about the possible outcomes for the trio.

“There is an abundance of love and care among them. That’s where everyone stands right now; there’s no animosity. They truly love and care for one another,” she added. “That’s why it all comes together so beautifully; despite their clashes, there’s a mutual admiration.”

In the meantime, Wareing shares the audience’s sentiments, rooting for Lucas and Lauren. “In season 1, we saw Lucas and Lauren very much in love. What happens when they’re not happy, and how do they navigate real-world challenges? What does it mean to feel that strong connection and come back together?”
He elaborated, “Lucas wants to explore [a life beyond Ransom Canyon], but is it worthwhile if it doesn’t include the love of his life? That’s a crucial question we’ll need to tackle in season 2 — if we get that chance. Lucas loves Lauren so deeply that his aspirations would feel incomplete without her.”
