White Lotus Cast: Nominations and Omissions at the 2025 Emmys

The White Lotus garnered multiple nominations at the 2025 Emmys — but who from the third season got recognized and who didn’t?

The nominations for the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards were unveiled on Tuesday, July 15, and The White Lotus received a total of 23 nods. Along with Outstanding Drama Series, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, and Aimee Lou Wood each received nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Rockwell were also recognized in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category, while Scott Glenn received a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

However, HBO Max viewers were disappointed by several omissions from the main cast. Leslie Bibb, Sarah Catherine Hook, Michelle Monaghan, and Lalisa Manobal didn’t make the nominees list. Additionally, Jon Gries, Tayme Thapthimthong, and Lek Patravadi also failed to receive any nominations.

TV shows and films have often pushed boundaries by depicting incest on screen. The White Lotus is the latest instance, showcasing a confusing kiss between Patrick Schwarzenegger‘s Saxon and Sam Nivola‘s Lochlan that should not have transpired between brothers. Fortunately, HBO’s acclaimed series is known for playing with its audience’s expectations […]

Perhaps the biggest shock was the absence of Sam Nivola and Patrick Schwarzenegger from the nominations. Despite their notable performances during controversial onscreen moments, neither received a nomination. (On the subject of TV shows featuring incest themes, Cooper Koch, known for his role as Erik Menéndez in Netflix’s Monsters, was acknowledged for his performance.)

The HBO series, which premiered in 2021, revolves around the guests and staff at a fictional resort, showcasing their personal struggles and triumphs during their vacations. The anthology format is also recognized for its suspenseful deaths — or two — revealed in each season’s finale.

Season 1 was located in Hawaii and featured a stellar cast, including Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn, and Molly Shannon.

The second season shifted to a picturesque resort in Sicily and included Coolidge, F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Meghann Fahy, Beatrice Grannò, Tom Hollander, Sabrina Impacciatore, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, Aubrey Plaza, Haley Lu Richardson, Will Sharpe, Simona Tabasco, and Leo Woodall.

Season 3, which premiered earlier this year, took place in Thailand. While creator Mike White has kept specific plans for the show under wraps, he has hinted at what viewers can expect.

“I’ve dabbled in Buddhism, and Thailand suited the themes I wanted to explore,” he shared with The Hollywood Reporter in April. “The show tackles identity and desire — and there’s also a cheeky side of me that asks, ‘How can I create something that’s both naughty and humorous?’”

In a post-season 3 finale interview, White revealed he is seeking a new direction, stating, “For the fourth season, I want to move away from the crashing waves and rocky shores theme. However, there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”

The White Lotus is currently available for streaming on HBO Max.
