Mel Owens: From NFL Player to Lawyer

Born and raised in Detroit, Mel Owens grew up in a close-knit family, showcasing his athletic talents from a young age, as noted in his ABC bio.

He graduated from the University of Michigan and was picked as the ninth overall selection in the 1981 NFL Draft by the LA Rams.

Following a career-ending injury in 1991, the linebacker shifted to law, relocating to Orange County, California, where he focused on helping others — especially those seeking justice for sports-related injuries, according to his bio.

A Family Man

In Orange County, he “found his first love” and had two sons, as per his bio.

Unfortunately, the loss of his father led to the end of his marriage.

“Owens devoted himself to being an exemplary father, concentrating on raising his sons and coaching their sports activities,” his bio adds, emphasizing his role as a “dedicated dad.”

Seeking the Simple Joys of Companionship

Now poised to find love, Owens is eager to “rediscover a connection rooted in the simple joys of companionship — sharing life’s everyday moments, planning for the future, and growing stronger together.”

The lawyer looks forward to meeting someone who shares this vision and wishes to settle down in his golden years.
