24 Essential Sitcoms to Stream on Hulu This November 2025

After their business manager absconds with all their wealth, the affluent Rose family is compelled to move to a small, remote town named Schitt’s Creek, which the family patriarch Johnny (Eugene Levy) had previously bought as a prank. The once-wealthy and stylish Roses are completely unprepared for a town with just one coffee shop, yet the locals welcome them warmly.

Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy, who portrays the fashionable and uptight David Rose, co-wrote the show. Annie Murphy stars as the carefree socialite Alexis Rose, while Catherine O’Hara plays their mother, Moira. Although relocating to Schitt’s Creek seems like a disaster for the Roses, it ultimately enables them to appreciate the importance of family and learn how to connect with everyday people.

Of course, “everyday” doesn’t quite capture the essence of the Schitt’s Creek residents—Mayor Roland Schitt (Chris Elliot) is intrusive and self-important, his wife Jocelyn (Jennifer Robertson) is excessively cheerful to the point of being airheaded, and clerk Stevie (Emily Hampshire) is as helpful as the broken sign above the motel where the Roses stay. Yet, they somehow cultivate a community that will leave you in stitches, full of laughter and joy.
