Next Gen NYC: Seth Marks Interviews Brooks Marks on ‘Body Count’
Seth Marks made a memorable appearance on Next Gen NYC, leaving us stunned with his awkward conversation with his son Brooks Marks about his dating life.
“How’s it going in the bedroom?” Seth, aged 53, inquired as Brooks, 25, revealed he was seeing someone new named Kade. (The two met at Sundance Film Festival and are navigating a long-distance relationship, as Kade splits his time between Austin, Texas, and Los Angeles.)
Brooks responded playfully, “That’s not really a conversation I want to have with my dad,” but Seth pressed on. “I’m looking for a deeper emotional bond,” explained Seth after Brooks mentioned he confides in his mother, Meredith Marks, regarding his romantic life.
Seth continued, “Honestly, I want to step into a maternal role. It’s a new paradigm for fathers, where you think of me like you do your mom.”
The husband from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City showed that no topic was off-limits during their time together at the driving range, asking Brooks, “What’s the body count for your boyfriend?”
Brooks momentarily got distracted by his wayward ball, prompting Seth to reiterate, “Did you catch that question about body count? You don’t want to dive into that?”
Brooks played coy, saying, “What about my body count?” Seth pressed on, “Do you talk about that with him?” admitting, “I just found out about this [term].”
While Brooks didn’t disclose any numbers or details about their past ‘partners,’ Seth emphasized that his concerns were simply about ensuring his son makes wise choices.
“I want to ensure that before you give him your heart entirely, it’s a reciprocal feeling,” Seth noted. “I can’t bear to see my kids get hurt.”
In an effort to change the topic, Brooks mentioned his friend Charlie Zakkour having a date with his sister, Chloe Marks. After the date, Charlie texted Brooks with an eyebrow-raising comment about potentially spending the night with Chloe, which didn’t sit well with him.
Seth also disapproved of Charlie’s comments and didn’t hesitate to take action without Brooks knowing. Later in the episode, he met Charlie for lunch and called out his behavior, saying he was “objectifying” Chloe, 23, even if it wasn’t his intent.
The conversation evolved as Seth and Charlie discussed family matters before moving to Charlie’s roommate Dylan Geick and his sexual orientation.
“Dylan’s open and identifies as bisexual, so he’s very much into a variety of people,” Charlie remarked about his roommate and fellow cast member, who is an OnlyFans model. “Is that what being fluid means?” Seth asked.
Charlie replied, “What does he identify as? Pansexual? That seems right.” Seth joked, “That’s what I need to clarify! Don’t share this with my wife!”
