Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa: Bonding Over Dance Moms
Chris Hughes is currently in Palm Springs, California, charming girlfriend JoJo Siwa’s family, and he’s been watching a lot of Dance Moms during his stay.
“I’ve seen tons of Dance Moms while I’m here, but also at home before coming over,” Hughes, 32, shared exclusively with Us Weekly as part of his campaign with Nutri-Grain. “It’s fun to watch JoJo’s mom on TV since I know her in person.”
Hughes, who gained fame on season 3 of Love Island U.K., mentioned that he initially planned to stay in Florida for just two nights but ended up extending his visit, enjoying four rounds of golf with Siwa’s dad, Tom.
“We’ve watched a lot together,” he revealed. “In fact, we caught some highlights on YouTube last night, and she has checked out some of my segments from Love Island.”
Hughes and Siwa, 22, became acquainted in the Celebrity Big Brother house and confirmed their relationship in June. Now exploring their connection outside the house, Hughes mentioned he doesn’t expect Siwa to go back and watch all of his Love Island episodes from 2017.

“I mentioned that I don’t really want to watch that,” Hughes admitted. “There’s no need for that. I know there are many memorable clips from Love Island that were enjoyable. I just told her, ‘Watch it if you want, just be prepared.’”
Even if they aren’t binge-watching Love Island, Hughes and Siwa have discovered numerous ways to spend quality time together — including simply relaxing.
“I genuinely feel like I’m just spending quality time with a best friend,” he stated, “which is wonderful because we can just relax and have the best time together. The beauty of it is that we don’t need to force fun; we simply enjoy one another’s company.”
Hughes and Siwa are content in their relationship, being their authentic selves with each other. This is a key reason the Nutri-Grain “Not Sorry” campaign resonates with Hughes. The concept brings together reality stars, Hughes included, to deliver comical and exaggerated apologies for their past antics in front of a large audience. But Hughes emphasizes that he’s apologizing for nothing.
“We say and do things without feeling obligated to apologize,” he noted. “It’s like embracing the fact that I don’t feel guilty enjoying a Nutri-Grain because it’s salty. It has its vitamins and minerals; it offers whole grains, and I hold no regrets about my moments on reality television. Embracing both aspects made for a fun and cheeky campaign with a great brand.”
