Is Taylor Swift Saying Goodbye to Her Red Lip in the ‘Life of a Showgirl’ Era?
Taylor Swift has embarked on a new era that may see her signature red lip take a backseat.
On Tuesday, August 12, the 35-year-old artist announced her upcoming 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl. Sharing the news on her official website and during a teaser for Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast episode on Wednesday, August 13, fans quickly noted her departure from her iconic lip color, opting instead for an orange-toned lipstick to complement her album’s color scheme.
While holding up the obscured album cover, she exclaimed, “This is my brand new album!” Meanwhile, Jason, 37, couldn’t contain his excitement, and Travis, 35, looked delighted sitting next to her.
As she previewed her forthcoming music, Swift showcased a full glam look that included dewy foundation, bronzed cheeks, winged eyeliner, and lengthy lashes. However, her standout feature was the eye-catching orange lipstick, which fans speculated might be from her best friend Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty line.
“Taylor Swift is wearing Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in the shade ‘Joy’ for her appearance on the New Heights podcast!” one social media user posted on X, while another suggested it might be the terracotta “Brave” shade. Others speculated whether she was still wearing Nars’ Morocco lipstick, which she has often been seen with.
Swift completed her glam with a chic yet costly outfit, featuring a white button-up blouse paired with a tan Sandy Liang pleated skort priced at $625. Adding some sparkle, she accessorized with a Cartier panther necklace ($22,500) and a matching gold Cartier watch adorned with diamonds ($18,330).
Though Swift has yet to reveal a release date for her album, she teased the new music on Monday, August 11. Her official Taylor Nation account shared several photos of Swift sporting all-orange outfits during her Eras Tour on Instagram.
“Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’ ❤️🔥,” the account captioned the post.
