Gil Bates and Kelly Jo Bates are parents to 19 children, all of whom were featured over 10 seasons of Bringing Up Bates.
The couple married in December 1987 and welcomed their first child the next year. By 2012, Kelly had given birth to nine sons and 10 daughters, with no multiples among them. Over the years, many of their children have tied the knot themselves, bringing the couple more than 15 grandchildren—and the number keeps growing.
The UPtv stars first appeared on television in a 2012 series called United Bates of America. They returned with Bringing Up Bates three years later. Unfortunately, the reality show was canceled by the network in January 2022 after completing 10 seasons.
