Dexter: Resurrection Finale Breakdown: Which Characters Died? Who Appeared in Cameos?

Dexter: Resurrection concluded its inaugural season with a series of shocking deaths — but where might the saga of the fictional serial killer head next?

In the season 1 finale, which premiered on Friday, September 5, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) narrowly escaped from Prater’s (Peter Dinklage) hidden lair. Following this, Dexter eliminated Prater and concealed the murder while seemingly planning to connect with other serial killers in the vicinity.

Additionally, Dexter managed to reconcile with his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), on his journey to being a more committed father. Fans of the series were also treated to a nostalgic surprise when Dexter’s brother made an appearance as one of his manifestations, alongside his father, Harry (James Remar).

Having first debuted in 2006, Dexter introduced us to Hall as the infamous fictional killer, whose narrative wound down in 2013. He made a comeback in the 2021 spinoff titled New Blood, which concluded merely a year later.

Despite Dexter’s demise in the revival, audiences continued to crave new stories surrounding the character. By 2024, a brief prequel and a spinoff were developed that ingeniously resurrected the titular figure.
