Kate Hudson Reflects on the Iconic Yellow Dress from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Kate Hudson graced the red carpet as if it were 2003, captivating everyone in a soft yellow gown reminiscent of Andie Anderson.
The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress, now 46, appeared to honor one of the most memorable rom-com outfits while attending the Warner Bros. Television Group’s 77th Primetime Emmy Awards Nominees Celebration on Saturday, September 13.
Hudson brought back some serious red carpet nostalgia—minus the love fern—by wearing an exquisite butter-toned dress with a sweetheart neckline, structured cups, and a shimmering satin fabric that flared gently at the bottom into a subtle mermaid silhouette.
She paired her look with a stylish clutch and taupe pointed-toe heels, her hair styled in soft waves swept to one side. Hudson kept her jewelry minimal, opting for delicate diamond earrings and understated glam that highlighted her dewy complexion and made her eyes shine.
In her role as magazine columnist Andie in the cherished 2003 film, she donned the famed backless dress designed by Carolina Herrera and Karen Patch for a memorable scene with Matthew McConaughey‘s suave character, Ben Barry, at the DeLauer gala.
“I have no idea where that dress is!” she revealed to Elle in 2021. “It was designed by Carolina Herrera, and our wonderful costume designer collaborated closely with her team.”
“I have no clue where it ended up, but I think we should go looking for it!” Hudson added.
In that iconic scene, Hudson also sported the renowned “Isadora” necklace, a stunning real-life Harry Winston piece featuring an 84-carat yellow diamond, valued at $5 to $6 million, which was sold to a private buyer post-filming.
In 2020, Kate Hudson shared that she often wonders where Ben and Andie might be if they had stayed together.
“We probably would have tied the knot and had kids,” she joked to Elle. “We might be totally miserable right now!”
