Eva Longoria Looks Unrecognizable with Gray Hair in New Film Christmas Karma

Eva Longoria’s fans are embracing the festive season with the release of the trailer for her upcoming holiday film, Christmas Karma, showcasing her strong dedication to the role.

The trailer for Gurinder Chadha’s Christmas Karma dropped on Wednesday, September 17, featuring Longoria, 50, as the Ghost of Christmas Past. In a surprising twist, the actress appears halfway through the teaser looking entirely different, sporting a curly gray wig and face paint, all while dressed in a striking black and silver ensemble.

“This is absurd, you don’t even look like a ghost,” comments Kunal Nayyar’s character, Eshaan Sood, as he leaps from his bed. She lets out a terrifying roar, enhanced by CGI, sending Mr. Sood into a state of shock. The enigmatic figure introduces herself as the Ghost of Christmas Past, leading Mr. Sood on a nostalgic journey, revisiting the painful moment he left his childhood home and bid farewell to his friends.

“Do you really think these memories will alter me?” Mr. Sood inquires, to which the Ghost of Christmas Past asserts, “Yes.”

Eva Longoria didn’t dream of Hollywood as a child. “I was the performative one in my family because I was the ugly duckling. I have the evidence if needed,” she humorously stated in an interview with Today published on Sunday, March 23. “My three sisters all resemble each other while I…”

The film offers a Bollywood twist on Charles DickensA Christmas Carol.

“The narrative centers around Mr. Sood, a wealthy British Asian businessman who shuns generosity and mistreats his staff on zero-hour contracts,” according to the film’s synopsis via Into Film. “On Christmas Eve, he encounters three spirits who first guide him through his past as a refugee, then help him recognize the negative impact of his attitude in the present, and finally reveal a dismal future shaped by his greed.”

The synopsis elaborates, “Through these encounters, Sood addresses issues of bias, lost love, and the repercussions of his decisions, ultimately rediscovering empathy and the joy of giving — aided by a cheerful London cab driver along the way. With an eclectic, multicultural soundtrack blending gospel, bhangra, rap, and pop, the film shines a light on the vibrant tapestry of Britain’s communities and the spirit of the holiday.”

In the film, alongside Longoria as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Billy Porter takes on the role of the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Boy George appears as the Ghost of Christmas Future. The cast is further rounded out by Charithra Chandran, Hugh Bonneville, Leo Suter, Ali Asghar Shah, Danny Dyer, Pixie Lott, Bilal Hasna, Nitin Ganatra, Allan Corduner, Rufus Jones, Tracy-Ann Oberman, and Eve Jihan Cooper.

Longoria’s transformation into a gray-haired character in Christmas Karma is a notable departure from her usual dark tresses. Recently, she showcased her classic glam in a chic white dress and matching heels during her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Tuesday, September 16. Throughout the interview, Longoria shared insights about her FXX sports docuseries, Necaxa, and her experiences balancing life between Spain and Mexico.
