Wednesday Signals Tyler’s Path to Romantic Reconciliation

Wednesday enthusiasts have been speculating about a potential romantic reunion between Wednesday and Tyler—and they aren’t alone in their curiosity.

In an exclusive chat with Us Weekly during the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride event on Friday, September 26, Isaac Ordonez, who portrays Pugsley in the popular Netflix series, shared his thoughts on the possibility of Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and Tyler (Hunter Doohan) rekindling their relationship.

“I think there might be some hints towards it,” Ordonez remarked. “I’m not sure what [show creators] Alfred [Gough] and Miles [Millar] have in store, but from what I’ve observed—it’s definitely a possibility.”

Having experienced the intense moments between Wednesday and Tyler in season 2, Ordonez understands the buzz among fans, adding, “She’s fallen for the monster inside him. I think they actually complement each other well. I could see it happening.”

Wednesday has explored the notion of the lead character reuniting with her ex following their breakup. Season 1 introduced Tyler and Wednesday as a couple, but they later became adversaries with undeniable chemistry.

The finale of season 2, which wrapped up in September, included several instances that led many at Us to question Wednesday’s claims of disinterest in Tyler. Her choice to spare Tyler’s life in the final episode leaves the door open for this fan-favorite couple.

“For Tyler, he believed he had lost his mother, only to find out her death was linked to her being a Hyde, with that truth hidden from him. When Laurel manipulates him and blames outcasts for his mother’s demise, it shapes how he views his dad, who has always treated him harshly. Tyler, who longs for his father’s affection, struggles to understand the hostility,” Doohan exclusively told Us in August regarding his character’s perspective. “Wednesday feels like the one person who, being Wednesday Addams, wouldn’t shy away from him and might actually accept those darker parts of himself.”

Doohan did not dismiss the idea of a romantic storyline as he prepares for filming season 3. “Can anyone really be too dark for Wednesday Addams?” he humorously asked Us at that time.

Aside from the narratives surrounding Wednesday and Tyler, Wednesday is beginning to delve deeper into Ordonez’s character.

“I’m thrilled to see the positive reception for the second season,” the actor shared with Us. “I’m really excited for season 3. I’m unsure what lies ahead for Pugsley, but I can imagine it will be substantial.”

Ordonez expressed his enjoyment of working with the cast.

“We genuinely feel like a family. We share a strong bond. And [director] Tim [Burton] is just incredible. Sometimes I watch him and can see the passion in his eyes as his vision comes to life,” he added. “Off set, he’s very laid-back. But when it’s time to film, he’s laser-focused and knows exactly what he wants.”

Wednesday has been confirmed for season 3 and is currently streaming on Netflix.
