Jesse McCartney and Wife Katie Expecting Baby No. 2

Jesse McCartney and his wife, Katie McCartney, are excited to announce that they will be welcoming a new addition to their family in 2027.

“Archer is getting promoted to big brother 🤍,” Jesse, who is 39, and Katie, aged 38, shared in a joint Instagram post on Thursday, October 1, referencing their 16-month-old son.

The couple revealed that their newest little one is expected to arrive in March 2027, having welcomed Archer last year.

“Archer James McCartney made his debut on 5/7/25. Our precious Archie couldn’t wait to meet us and arrived a tad earlier than anticipated,” the delighted parents shared in an Instagram announcement. “We are absolutely in love with him. He enjoys it when mommy reads him a book and when daddy sings him to sleep.”

Despite dropping his latest single, Jesse McCartney understands that conceiving a child isn’t always the easiest—nor the most glamorous—endeavor. In an exclusive conversation with Us Weekly earlier this month, McCartney, 37, discussed the conversations with his wife, Katie Peterson, that inspired his new track, “Make a Baby,” featuring Yung Gravy. “We had […]

Archer was born premature, spending a total of 70 days in the hospital NICU.

“He excelled in the NICU in a way that is textbook, as stated by the doctors,” Jesse later recounted to People in September 2025. “We held onto that and took it one day at a time. … We had a moment recently where we didn’t experience the happiness you’re supposed to feel, because our happiness was rooted in just being grateful that he’s alive and breathing on his own. It shouldn’t be this way, but unfortunately, it is for so many moms.”

For Jesse, the moment they finally brought Archer home in July 2025 was “the greatest day of [his] life.”

“[We] simply stared at him all night, free from any machines, in his own crib,” the “Beautiful Soul” singer expressed to the outlet. “When he gets excited or has trouble sleeping, I bring him over to the piano and play music for him, and he lights up. You can see he’s really focused. Just three days ago, he started smiling at me. I can’t get enough of it. I feel incredibly lucky.”

Jesse McCartney has been candid about the “traumatic” journey following his son Archer’s premature birth. Jesse rushed to be by her side and […]

Jesse and Katie have been married since 2021 after dating for nine years.

“Katie is amazing,” the musician exclusively shared with Us in 2024 regarding his long-time partner. “This past year was challenging for her. I was on the road a lot [on tour]. She managed to visit quite often, but we didn’t celebrate our anniversary as much as we wanted. I think we literally celebrated in a hotel room with Domino’s and a bottle of inexpensive red wine.”
