Chrishell Stause from Selling Sunset Has Issues with Emma Hernan’s Boyfriend Blake Davis

Selling Sunset has had its share of conflicts, but the clash between Emma Hernan and Chrishell Stause in season 9 was unexpected.

The trailer released on Wednesday, October 15, for the new episodes of the Netflix series reveals growing tension between Chrishell, 44, and Emma, 33, centered around Emma’s former partner, Blake Davis. After Emma reconnects with Blake, Chrishell inquires whether they are “together or not together.” The preview also features Emma trying on a stunning $2 million ring on her ring finger.

However, Emma expresses concern over Chrishell’s claim that she “f***ing hates” Blake. As fans may recall, Emma hinted at her romance with Blake, whom she initially chose not to name, after they got back together late last year. (Reports have surfaced since then suggesting that Emma and Blake parted ways.)

“He went and filmed and put himself out there as well, and they cut everything,” Emma exclusively told Us Weekly in December 2024. “There are a few scenes where I have a bite mark on my arm, and they try to play it like they don’t know who it is. But we all know who it is. There are several scenes that if you revisit the season and pay attention to what they did now, it’s super messed up.”

Emma noted it took her several seasons to reveal her dating life — with unfortunate outcomes.

“As it is, I’m not super comfortable sharing my personal life and relationship. Then I go ahead, I do it, and regardless, your relationship is going to be judged,” she remarked. “I want people to connect with me and see my real life and know what I’m doing. Then they cut my real life and go to this fabricated life that has zero truth to it, and I don’t even know about it!”

Shortly before the release of season 8 in 2024, Emma was taken aback when Nicole Young mentioned rumors alleging she was involved with a married man. Emma denied the accusations, and Nicole has since apologized. The offscreen drama surprised Emma, especially since she filmed numerous scenes with her then-unidentified boyfriend.

“I have been quite private about my relationships my entire life. Even before the show, I’ve always been a private person regarding relationships,” she reflected. “But producers approached me and said they wanted to delve into my love life and who I was dating. I opened up my life, and what transpired was the complete opposite of what we filmed.”

Emma later did not dismiss the possibility of showcasing more of her romance, which was ultimately depicted in season 9.

“[My boyfriend is] definitely more reserved. But he was very supportive of whatever I wanted. He participated in filming, and we explored a few properties together on screen. Ultimately, he was quite disappointed with how everything turned out for me, as was my family,” she added. “He had messaged me prior to the show, so we had been friends for quite a while, and then we met last December. He’s very close with my family, which was something that was lacking in my previous relationship and is something I’m incredibly thankful for in this one.”

Months before the season 9 premiere, Chrishell responded to rumors regarding a fallout between her and Emma.

“Ask her about her MAGA bf who told me pronouns are dumb,” Chrishell posted on Instagram in May, before accusing Emma’s partner of using a racial slur. “I just can’t with that. Too old to allow that in. But love her from afar.”

Selling Sunset returns to Netflix on Wednesday, October 29.
