Sofia Richie and Husband Elliot Grainge Expecting Baby No. 2!
Sofia Richie has revealed that she is expecting her second child with her husband, Elliot Grainge.
On Thursday, October 16, Richie, 27, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt photo showcasing her baby bump.
“On my way to launch these babies 👶🏼 + @srgatelier,” she wrote, also mentioning her new fashion line, SRG Atelier.
Fans rushed to the comments to express their congratulations to the excited mother-to-be.
“Omg congratulations, beautiful,” commented one thrilled follower, while another added, “Mother is mothering again 🥹.”
This will mark the second child for Richie and Grainge, 31, who have been linked romantically since January 2021.
In April 2022, Richie and Grainge announced their engagement. Richie shared a photo of the proposal on Instagram with the caption, “Forever isn’t long enough @elliot.”
“Sofia is overjoyed about her engagement. She couldn’t be happier to have found The One,” a source told Us Weekly. “She’s taking the time to enjoy her engagement and travel the globe with Elliot, but she’s also begun planning their wedding and scouting venues. She hopes to marry next year.”
The couple eventually tied the knot at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Rock in Antibes, France, in April 2023, welcoming their first child, a daughter named Eloise Samantha Grainge, in May 2024.
Richie announced her first pregnancy with Grainge in January 2024, discussing with Vogue how they discovered they were about to become parents.
“I found out very early,” she recounted. “I was about four weeks pregnant, during a trip to Milan for Fashion Week. I was on my way to the Prada show, feeling terrible but attributing it to jet lag.”
Richie described the overwhelming emotion she and Grainge felt upon seeing the positive pregnancy test.
“He was so excited, and we both cried,” she shared. “It was an incredible and overwhelming moment, making it hard not to shout the news from the rooftops.”
The model, who was six months along before publicizing her pregnancy, explained the couple’s choice to keep details private.
“Pregnancy can be daunting, and I wanted to safeguard that experience,” she stated. “I didn’t realize there are so many milestones and tests. For me, it was vital to protect our mental health and our space as a couple.”
Richie later discussed her initial pregnancy and motherhood on the “Therapuss” podcast in November 2024.
“My life makes sense now,” she said. “I’ve never loved anything more. I’m completely obsessed with her; she’s perfect.”
Reflecting on her pregnancy, she remarked, “It was beautiful. I always tell my friends, ‘It got wild,’ but I felt empowered the entire time. I was amazed that I could do this.”
Richie shared the news of her baby’s arrival on Instagram on May 24, 2024, with a touching black-and-white photo of the newborn’s feet.
