Ariana Grande Stuns in a Dress Fit for Glinda and Elphaba in New York City
Ariana Grande’s Wicked: For Good press tour fashion is a hit with both Glinda and Elphaba’s vibes.
The 32-year-old singer graced the premiere of Wicked: For Good in New York City on Monday, November 17, showcasing a jaw-dropping ballgown that would earn nods of approval from both her character Glinda and Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, encapsulating elements of their distinctive styles.
Her custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown boasted a striking black corset top—Elphaba’s iconic color—featuring a strapless sweetheart neckline with intricate lace detailing and a peplum waist.
The top was paired with a skirt reminiscent of Glinda, adorned with layers of soft, rosy pleated tulle fabric.
The singer elevated her glamour with a refined makeup look, featuring perfectly shaped eyebrows, soft pink eyeshadow, voluminous lashes, and rosy cheeks. She contoured her button nose and completed her stunning look with glossy, pink-lined lips.
Her freshly dyed brunette locks were sleeked back into a high ponytail, complete with side bangs styled down. A chic black bow adorned her hair, complemented by sparkling diamond drop earrings.
On the red carpet, Grande posed alongside Erivo, 38, who exuded confidence in a striking black ensemble from Balenciaga.
Erivo’s ensemble featured a polished top embellished with a striking plume across her chest and arms. The long-sleeved design highlighted her waist, leading into a dramatic pleated A-line skirt.
During a photo op, Erivo sported a stylish black mask over her eyes before removing it to reveal smoky eyeshadow, luscious lashes, and pink lips. Her glamorous appearance was further enhanced with diamond earrings and a silver septum piercing.
Throughout the Wicked: For Good promotional events, Grande has been opting for more black outfits compared to the pink ones she favored during last year’s press tour.
At the London premiere, she dazzled in a beaded design from Gilbert Adrian, complete with a one-shoulder neckline and a fitted bodice. The ensemble was accentuated by a layered A-line skirt adorned with delicate black beading. She accessorized with a stunning diamond necklace and stud earrings.
Following the premiere, Grande was seen in another striking black dress while out and about in London, featuring a vintage 1950s style with a sheer top embellished with white floral motifs. Like her earlier look, this dress featured a layered black tulle skirt adorned with more florals.
She completed her outfit with platform Christian Louboutin strappy heels and a classic updo.
While fans have noticed her preference for black this time around, she has still incorporated vibrant pink into her wardrobe.
At the Governors Awards on Sunday, November 16, she looked stunning in a vintage 2007 Christian Dior gown by John Galliano, featuring a one-shoulder design, a column skirt, and an elegant side train, detailed with sparkling crystals that she complemented with Swarovski pink jewelry.
Post-Singapore premiere, Grande donned another pink dress, a custom Balenciaga gown embellished with sequins.
