Everything You Need to Know About the 2026 Golden Globes: Host, Date, and More
Nikki Glaser will make her second appearance as the host of the Golden Globe Awards in 2026.
The comedian received high praise for her sharp humor directed at Ben Affleck, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and Selena Gomez during the 2025 show, making it no surprise that producers brought her back for another round. (Glaser joins the ranks of legendary Golden Globes hosts like Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jimmy Fallon.)
The Golden Globe Foundation — which took over from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) as the governing body of the awards in 2023 — will once again celebrate the finest in television and film amidst a star-studded audience in Beverly Hills.
Besides the thrill of awards season, Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Mirren are poised to receive honorary Golden Globes in acknowledgment of their outstanding careers.

Nikki Glaser will return for her second consecutive year as the host of the Golden Globe Awards in 2026.
Both the Golden Globe Foundation and Dick Clark Productions were thrilled with her hosting debut in January 2025, prompting them to re-sign her in March.
“Hosting the Golden Globes this year was, without a doubt, the most fun I have ever had in my career,” Glaser stated. “I can’t wait to do it again, especially in front of the team from The White Lotus who will finally recognize my talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.”
Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne praised Glaser’s return after her successful hosting debut.
“Nikki Glaser injected a refreshing spark and unfiltered humor into the Golden Globes stage this year. Her clever wit and bold presence created an unforgettable atmosphere, making the ceremony lively and genuinely enjoyable,” Hoehne remarked.
Glaser was brought on to host following comedian Jo Koy’s less-than-stellar reviews for his Golden Globes debut in 2024.
Who Will Receive the Carol Burnett Award?
The Golden Globes have presented the Carol Burnett Award annually since 2019 for “outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen.” This special award is considered the television equivalent of the Globes’ film-focused Cecil B. DeMille Award.
In November 2025, the Golden Globe Foundation announced that the 2026 recipient of the Carol Burnett Award will be Sex and the City and And Just Like That star Sarah Jessica Parker. Parker has previously won six Golden Globes throughout her acclaimed career.
“Sarah Jessica Parker’s career embodies the very essence of the Carol Burnett Award,” stated Golden Globes president Hoehne. “Her groundbreaking contributions to television and commitment to storytelling across stage and screen has left an unforgettable imprint on popular culture. We are privileged to celebrate her remarkable achievements in entertainment.”
The Globes will feature Parker’s life and career in the new Golden Eve special, airing on January 8, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+. This TV event will offer “viewers an extraordinary look at the honoree’s legacy while celebrating their body of work through personal anecdotes, unforgettable Golden Globes highlights, curated career retrospectives, and special presenters.”
Past recipients of the award include Carol Burnett in 2019, former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, pioneering TV producer Norman Lear, American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy, and sitcom legend Ted Danson.
Who Will Receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award?
The film-oriented lifetime achievement award named after its inaugural recipient, director Cecil B. DeMille, will be bestowed upon Helen Mirren in 2026. Mirren has previously won three Golden Globe Awards, including Best Actress in a Motion Picture — Drama for 2006’s The Queen.
“Helen Mirren is a phenomenal talent, and her career is truly remarkable,” stated Golden Globes president Hoehne. “Her exceptional performances and dedication to her craft continue to inspire countless artists and audiences alike. It is a tremendous honor to present her with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.”
Mirren will also appear in the Golden Eve special on CBS and Paramount+ on January 8, 2026.
