Pete Davidson Reveals Elsie Hewitt Mentioned Having Kids on Their First Date
Pete Davidson and his expecting girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, realized early on that they would one day expand their family.
“During our first date at dinner, I actually said, ‘Don’t think I’m crazy, but I just know you’re going to be the father of my children,’” recalled Hewitt, 29, during their Bumble Instagram Stories takeover on Tuesday, November 18.
Davidson, 32, remembered that date fondly, responding, “I know.”
“And look at us now!” Hewitt laughed. “How about that?” agreed the former Saturday Night Live star.
The couple also shared more about their relationship’s beginnings during Bumble’s real-life love story campaign on Tuesday.
After Hewitt mentioned her dream date night is at an escape room, Davidson admitted they hadn’t experienced one yet, although she is a huge fan of the interactive challenge.
“She said, ‘I have a standing reservation at an escape room so we can go anytime,’” Davidson laughed, revealing this as a “flex” she mentioned early in their relationship. “I was like, ‘Oh, cool, dude.’”
Reflecting on their growth as a couple, Hewitt mentioned, “You are very patient with me, and we both learned that I need to improve my time management, which Pete handles with so much patience.”
The comedian joked, “That’s a lesson every guy can learn; you’re just going to be late, and that’s okay.”
Us Weekly confirmed their relationship in March 2023 after they were seen cozying up in Palm Beach, Florida, and made their red carpet debut two months later at the Blossom Ball in New York City.
In July, Hewitt announced their pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a video of them looking at a sonogram alongside photos of their time together.
“Welp, now everyone knows we had sex,” the British model cheekily captioned the post.
An insider later told Us that their baby is due this winter, and they’re “so eager for this next chapter.”
“They’ve been cohabitating and preparing for the baby, which has brought them even closer together,” the insider added in October.
Despite living together, the couple isn’t planning on marriage right now.
“It’s been an exhilarating time for them, and they’re doing wonderfully as a couple,” shared the insider. “They’ve discussed engagement but aren’t rushing into it. Their main focus is being loving parents together.”
The source emphasized, “Pete has been incredibly supportive of Elsie throughout this journey, making sure she’s well taken care of.”
While Davidson has been a supportive partner, Hewitt has faced challenges during her pregnancy due to her struggles with endometriosis, a condition that causes tissue to grow outside the uterus and leads to pain.
“I’m in constant agony pretty much all the time. This morning has been particularly rough,” Hewitt shared via her Instagram Story on November 14. “I’m suffering and experiencing immense pain every single day. I really don’t see how it could get worse than this.”
However, on Tuesday, Hewitt was all smiles as she joined her boyfriend for their Bumble takeover.
“We’re really excited to dress the baby to look just like us,” Davidson mentioned in a video, which thrilled Hewitt. “Matching outfits for all three of us,” she added enthusiastically.
Davidson concluded, “Yeah, that’s going to be a lot of fun.”
