Witney Carson from Dancing With the Stars Announces the Gender of Her Third Baby
Dancing With the Stars professional dancer Witney Carson and her husband, Carson McAllister, have announced the gender of their third child.
“Baby McAllister number 3 is a…” Carson, 32, and McAllister, 33, playfully teased in a joint Instagram post on Monday, September 21.
The video showcased Carson and McAllister at the end of a dock, turned away from their sons, Leo, 5, and Jet, 3. Leo discovered the contents of an envelope hidden in a basket adorned with blue and pink flowers, revealing that he will soon have another little brother.
As the couple turned around, they saw Leo handing them the blue bouquet, while, in an adorable twist, Jet presented them with the pink flowers too. To eliminate any misunderstanding, Carson clarified in the caption that she is expecting her third son.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled or feel more fortunate to have all these boys,” wrote the DWTS professional. “Being a boy mom is the greatest honor of my life, and I cherish raising them.”
Carson announced on August 17 that she is expecting the couple’s third child while also preparing for DWTS season 35. The pro dancer, who is partnered with Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez this season, already has two sons, Leo and Jet, with McAllister.
“It would be dishonest to say I’m not feeling a bit overwhelmed. I’ve never been this far along in pregnancy while competing on Dancing With the Stars,” Carson shared on Good Morning America. “I’m not sure if anyone has ever done this before.”
She added, “I take immense pride in being a woman, nurturing life, and growing this child. To be able to participate in the show while competing … is truly a blessing.”
Later in the month, Carson hinted that she may already know the gender of her unborn baby.
“We’re kind of waiting for the 20-week ultrasound to confirm it for sure,” the two-time mirrorball champion mentioned on “The Viall Files” podcast on August 20. “We did a little sneak peek test initially, but I’m not fully convinced yet.”
While Carson and McAllister have planned extravagant gender reveals before, they decided to keep this occasion “really simple.”
“We just did it with the boys, without the whole explosion,” she joked. “People tend to take it too far. Gender reveals have become quite excessive.”
Regarding her sons, Carson expressed that Leo and Jet are already feeling “excited” about becoming big brothers.
“We’ve kept it under wraps for so long. So, the fact that we can finally share it now, they constantly ask me, ‘Mom, can I tell?’ They’re so eager,” Carson shared with podcast hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy. “By the time the baby arrives, my oldest will be 6 and my youngest will be 4. I feel like it’s the perfect moment for us to expand our family and welcome a third child.”
Carson, who was “completely taken aback” by her pregnancy, found out she was four months along when DWTS premiered last week.
“We didn’t expect to conceive so quickly, so it was a bit of a surprise,” she said. “I definitely didn’t consider being four months pregnant while dancing and competing this year, but that’s the path we’re on.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET and is available for streaming the following day on Hulu.
