Nick Cannon Commends Bre Tiesi While Talking About the Mothers of His Children
Nick Cannon is clarifying a rumor about the mothers of his children.
“Sometimes the things I say can be misinterpreted. But let me put it this way,” Cannon, 45, shared exclusively in his Us cover story ahead of the upcoming Wild ‘N Out Tour. “I don’t play favorites, but if I had to choose someone who truly gets me, it would be Bre [Tiesi]. There’s a comfort there. We refer to each other as twin flames, as she embraces all of my quirks, and I accept everything about her.”
Tiesi, 35, who is the mother of Cannon’s son Legendary, 4, recently praised him on Father’s Day by calling him “The best man, partner, and most importantly, father.”
According to Cannon, the duo “just really vibe together.”
“There’s a closeness and understanding that I honestly don’t have with anyone else,” Cannon elaborated when discussing his connection with the Selling Sunset star. “We operate that way, and she’s truly a ride or die. If you’re heading into a tough situation, she’s the one you want by your side.”
Cannon also has twins Moroccan and Monroe, 15, with ex-wife Mariah Carey; sons Golden, 9, and Rise, 4, along with daughter Powerful, 5, with Brittany Bell; twin boys Zion and Zillion, 5, and daughter Beautiful, 3, with Abby De La Rosa; and daughter Onyx, 4, with LaNisha Cole. He also shares daughter Halo, 3, and son Zen, who passed away in 2021, with Alyssa Scott.
While Cannon holds no grievances against the other mothers of his children, he commended Tiesi for being “incredibly protective.”
“She’s fiercely loyal to me,” he explained. “She’s never wavered. She’s always been completely committed, and that kind of love and loyalty is priceless. I’m extremely thankful for it. … While I often say I don’t have a favorite, she undoubtedly occupies a unique space in my heart.”
Despite his numerous relationships, Cannon has only experienced marriage once. He was wed to Carey, 57, from 2008 to 2016, and their relationship remains “amicable” after their divorce.
When asked if he would consider marrying again, The Masked Singer host indicated it’s unlikely.
“I don’t appreciate the government being involved in my romantic life,” he stated. “I prefer to be flexible. The only government I respect is the IRS. I’ll fill out whatever forms they require. I believe the institution of marriage should be valued and entered into with sincerity, but I can’t picture myself undergoing that legal process again. Once you’ve been through it and then try to exit, you think, ‘Yeah, I’m not doing this again.’”
