Southern Charm Recap: Salley Suggests She’s a Better Match for Austen Than Audrey
Salley Carson stirred controversy on Southern Charm when she revealed her attraction to Austen Kroll — while he was still involved with Audrey Pratt.
“I’m a girls’ girl, I adore Audrey, but I vibe really well with Austen,” Salley, 30, admitted to friends Rodrigo Reyes and Molly O’Connell during the episode that aired on Wednesday, November 26, on Bravo.
Salley contemplated, “Would I hook up with him?” before confidently declaring she wouldn’t hold back. “Once they break up, I’m in! Let’s go!” she laughed.
When Molly, 37, shared the details with Madison LeCroy, she appeared taken aback. “Should we place a bet? Who’s going to hook up with whom?” Madison, 35, suggested.
Molly rolled her eyes and said, “Oh, please.”
Later, Austen and Audrey attended Salley’s “Salley Sells Singles by the Sea Shore” beach party, where Madison disclosed Salley’s confession about her crush.
“So, are Craig [Conover] and Salley an item?” Audrey inquired after noticing Salley flirting with the Sewing Down South founder.
Madison replied, “Honestly, I think Salley is into Austen.” Audrey made a face and said, “Alright.”
At the episode’s conclusion, Audrey informed Austen about Salley’s feelings, making the conversation rather awkward.
“Oh my gosh, that’s not accurate. Salley likes Craig. Besides, she’s the class flirt,” Austen clarified. “That said, I do like her. We can joke around and play football without it feeling inappropriate.”
Audrey acknowledged it was “all fine and dandy,” but cautioned, “There’ll be a breaking point if it goes too far.” (Austen confirmed to Us Weekly on November 13 that he and Audrey had parted ways earlier this year after a relationship lasting under two years.)
While Salley created waves with her revelations about Austen, she focused more on flirting with Craig, 36, throughout the episode.
“I was in Craig’s hot tub until 4 a.m. We were just taking shots. It was a blast,” she shared with Venita Aspen, recounting their one-on-one time after Madison’s baby shower in a prior episode.
When Craig showed up at her beach party, Salley lit up with excitement, while Craig seemed interested in her single friend, Charley Manley.
“What the heck?” Salley exclaimed during a confessional after noticing Craig and Charley swimming together.
Salley confronted Charley about her behavior, but Charley denied any intention to attract Craig’s attention. “It wasn’t like that at all,” she insisted.
Salley, however, remained skeptical of Charley’s innocence.
“You’re full of it. I’m not naïve; I can see when someone is flirting, and it was happening right in front of me,” Salley told the cameras.
Before the season 11 premiere, the Southern Charm cast hinted at a love triangle involving Craig, Charley, and Salley.
“It came out of nowhere,” Salley exclusively told Us earlier this month regarding the unexpected attraction she and Charley had towards Craig. “I wasn’t sure if she’d even be into any of them.”
Charley expressed her discomfort about the situation, stating to Us, “Salley and I rarely disagree or argue. Experiencing this awkward phase in our friendship was definitely challenging.”
Southern Charm airs on Bravo Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
