Ioan Gruffudd Announces Arrival of His First Child with Wife Bianca
Ioan Gruffudd and his spouse Bianca have joyfully announced the arrival of their first child together.
On Thursday, November 27, the couple shared a joint post on Instagram, revealing that their daughter, named Mila Mae, has been born.
“November was a biggie… 💝,” wrote Ioan, 52, and Bianca, 33, in their caption, disclosing that Mila Mae arrived on November 2, a month earlier than her expected due date of December 2.
“Bubba Bear and Rocky: Absolutely smitten,” the caption continued. “Daddy & Mummy: Completely and totally in love with our tiny little angel 🩷🪽”
They concluded with, “Extremely grateful this Thanksgiving 🙏”
Although this is Ioan and Bianca’s first child together, the Fantastic Four actor has two daughters, Ella, 16, and Elsie, 12, from his previous marriage to Alice Evans, 57.
Ioan and Bianca revealed their pregnancy in June, with Bianca posting a touching black-and-white image of Ioan kissing her baby bump on Instagram.
“Baby Gruffudd popping out to say hello! 🤍,” she captioned the heartfelt post.
Just two months before announcing their pregnancy, Ioan and Bianca shared the news of their marriage.
“Mr & Mrs Gruffudd 💘. Marriage now, wedding later 💐,” they captioned their joint Instagram post on April 25.
Their romance became public in October 2021, and after three years together, Ioan and Bianca announced their engagement.
“The most precious thing happened… ❤️💍,” Bianca revealed in an enthusiastic Instagram post in January 2024, showcasing her engagement ring and sharing the details of the proposal, describing it as “a super adorable shock 💚💫🤍.”
Their relationship blossomed after the Titanic actor experienced a contentious separation from his ex, Evans.
Ioan filed for divorce from Evans in March 2021 after 14 years of marriage.
“As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family, and we remain committed to our children,” Ioan and Evans stated in a joint message to Us Weekly at that time. “Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
Since their bitter split, Ioan and Evans have been involved in ongoing legal disputes.
Meanwhile, Ioan has made rare positive remarks about Bianca in public over the years, expressing his gratitude for her ability to make him “smile again” when he confirmed their relationship through an Instagram post in October 2021.
Bianca has also expressed her appreciation for Ioan’s support during her health challenges as she navigates her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis.
“It’s not an easy illness. I feel more sympathy for the partners of people with MS because they face unknowns every day,” Bianca told The Daily Mail at an MS fundraiser in May 2022. “Having an incredible support system can change everything. I feel extremely fortunate to be with someone so understanding, it’s incredible – I haven’t experienced this before.”
