Jelly Roll Debuts New Clean-Shaven Look After Weight Loss
Jelly Roll has finally unveiled his freshly-shaved face.
The 40-year-old artist took to Instagram on Thursday, November 20, to flaunt his new look after removing the beard he had sported for the past decade.
“What’s up, y’all? By now, you’ve probably realized that I resemble a [Teenage Mutant] Ninja Turtle,” he joked. “Yeah, this is wild.”
He elaborated, “One reason I began growing a beard was to conceal what was happening here because I was so obese.” (Jelly Roll has been open about his weight loss journey, shedding over 200 lbs.)
He also shared his excitement about receiving three Grammy nominations for 2026, calling it the “most surreal moment of his life.”
Recalling his initial nominations in 2023 for Best New Artist and Best Country Duo/Group, he told his followers, “This is the only time I’ll ever attend the Grammys. To return three years later with more nominations than I’ve ever had is simply — first and foremost, I’m grateful.”
The artist emphasized, “I don’t care what other artists say or how they act; I’ll tell you the unfiltered truth. Every artist grew up watching the Grammys and rehearsing their acceptance speech in their bedroom.”
Jelly Roll expressed his heartfelt emotions regarding his nominations, stating, “When I see my nominations, all I can see is God. I almost want to shed a tear.”
He became emotional, holding back tears as he discussed his nomination for Country Album of the Year. “It’s not just about the album or the nomination; it’s about the recognition. I see all my friends in this category and then I see … Beautifully Broken.”
“Win, lose, or draw, holy f***, we’ve already won,” he exclaimed. “I feel deeply honored.”
Jelly Roll wrapped up the video by inviting fans to “make fun” of his chin in the comments section. “I thought my chin would extend at least a half inch further than it did. A failed science experiment,” he chuckled.
In addition to Best Contemporary Country Album, Beautifully Broken, Jelly Roll is nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for his collaboration with Shaboozey, “Amen,” and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake.

Jelly Roll had previously hinted at shaving his beard on his wife Bunnie Xo’s Instagram.
“I’ve been with my husband for almost 10 years, and I’ve never seen him without facial hair,” Bunnie Xo, 45, remarked.
“As women, we often get catfished because we have no idea what lies beneath,” she quipped. “My husband is going to completely shave his beard, because now that he’s slimmed down — just look at that jawline — we all want to see that jawline, right ladies?”
While Jelly Roll shaved off his hair, Bunnie Xo expressed that he looked “really good,” but she didn’t specify the outcome. He shared that he “loved” his new appearance in the background of the clip.
