Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert Celebrate the Arrival of Their First Baby

Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, have become proud parents.

“December 29, 2025. Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” Hough, 40, shared on Instagram on Monday, January 5, alongside a touching black-and-white image of their hands cradling their baby girl’s tiny feet. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”

Erbert, 31, also reposted the announcement on her Instagram Stories, adding a teary-eyed emoji and a white heart.

Hough’s sister Julianne celebrated the joyous news, writing on Monday, “Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley 💗.” She also shared the announcement on her Instagram Story, noting, “Baby girl has arrived.”

The couple, who began their romance in 2015, announced their engagement in June 2022 and married a year later in August 2023.

In July 2025, after nearly two years of marriage, Erbert revealed on Instagram that she was expecting their first child.

“We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” Erbert captioned a heartfelt video showcasing the couple embracing while she displayed sonogram images and showed off her baby bump.

Erbert announced her pregnancy more than a year after a serious health scare during a December 2023 performance on their Symphony of Dance Tour.

“At the end of last night’s show in Washington, D.C., my wife, Hayley, became disoriented and was taken to the hospital,” Hough stated. “She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma due to a burst blood vessel and needed an emergency craniectomy.”

Later that month, Erbert underwent cranioplasty surgery to replace a significant portion of her skull that had been removed during the craniectomy. Following the successful procedure, Hough updated fans on Instagram, reassuring them that Erbert was “on the path to a full recovery.”

In a November 2024 cover story for Us Weekly, the couple reminisced about Erbert’s health crisis nearly a year later.

“Ironically, I was talking about the preciousness of life and cherishing our time with loved ones,” Hough recalled, reflecting on the speech he gave while waiting for Erbert to join him on stage. “Unbeknownst to me, Hayley was offstage, having seizures and essentially dying.”

Erbert, for her part, remembered little from that night’s show.

“I just remember being on stage,” she explained to Us. “I recall being in a lot of pain … [but] I remember dancing, and then everything went black.”

During his wife’s health ordeal, Hough received troubling news.

“I was told … she might not survive, and if she did, she likely wouldn’t be the same person,” the Dancing With the Stars judge shared. “It was a devastating moment. When people say your whole world comes crashing down, it truly feels that way—like the room is collapsing around you.”

Despite describing her recovery as “one of the most challenging times” of her life, Erbert and Hough resolved to “appreciate life so much more” after she emerged from the crisis.

“I could have sat there feeling sorry for myself every single day,” she reflected. “But instead, I focused on the beauty that still exists in life. I want to embrace it.”
