Erin Andrews shared all the details about her trending fur coat.
Andrews, aged 47, revealed the ins and outs of her black-and-white faux fur coat, which she donned during the San Francisco vs. Philadelphia Eagles game on January 11.
On the Thursday, January 15, episode of her “Calm Down With Erin and Charissa” podcast, the sports journalist mentioned that wearing the coat on the sidelines, highlighted by a tan collar with black-and-white spotted fur, was a departure from her usual style.
“I’m genuinely proud of myself because I typically play it safe with my fashion choices, but I thought, ‘This is fun! F*** it!’”

How the Coat Came to Be
Erin Andrews revealed that the coat was a gift from Rob Zangardi, the founder of Auter. “I didn’t know this was the one I was receiving,” she shared. “I thought I was getting a different style.”
Andrews expressed admiration for Zangardi, who dresses “the biggest stars,” including Hailee Steinfeld, Jennifer Lopez, Mila Kunis, Gwen Stefani, Kerry Washington, and others. When a friend suggested she wear one of the designer’s pieces for the game, she agreed if he had “something available.” She trusted Zangardi’s choice of coat.
Where the Fur Comes From
“The jacket is from a new, small brand called Auter,” Andrews shared, clarifying that it’s pronounced “Outer.” She mentioned that she learned about the brand’s launch a year prior through mutual acquaintances. Andrews reassured her audience that she does not wear real fur. “What world do you live in if you think as an animal lover, [I would wear real fur]?” she remarked. “I’m not wearing real fur, you moron! I started an animal sanctuary!” (Andrews previously opened a sanctuary, Erin’s Farm, dedicated to rescuing animals and providing them with homes.) “Where are the puppies?” she humorously added in a Cruella de Vil voice.
Dressing Up for the Game
Andrews admitted that she doesn’t usually glam up for football games.
“You know, I’m the girl who walks around with a Tumi backpack and a North Face every week,” she said. “I knew it was exciting, fashionable, and outside my comfort zone. I thought, this is fun, and I’m really proud of myself because I tend to play it safe, but I thought, ‘This is fun! F*** it!’”
While sporting the coat, Andrews felt she blended right in with the stylish fans and WAGs in attendance. “Walking out in Philly, the ladies in the stands were dressed to the nines,” she noted. “Many of them are down on the field in their furs. I was just jumping right in, really embracing my Philly self. I even wanted a European cigarette!”
After her viral moment, Andrews mentioned that a flight attendant recognized her and said she “better” see that coat on her again.
