Sarah Jessica Parker and Others Applaud Rachel Ward for Embracing Natural Aging
Sarah Jessica Parker, Sharon Stone, and others have expressed their support for Rachel Ward following hurtful comments about her natural aging.
At 68, Ward received a wave of encouragement after posting a candid, makeup-free video on Instagram, despite facing harsh criticism regarding her looks.
In a follow-up video shared by her daughter Matilda, titled, “Warning!! Naturally aging woman. Proceed with caution,” SJP, 60, commented, “She is sincerely beautiful. For real. No qualifiers. Just a beauty. I’m sure inside and out. Xxx.”
Zoe Saldaña added, “Your mother is stunning!!! Always has been.”
Kim Basinger also joined in, calling Ward “one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen in my life” and expressed gratitude for her being an inspiration and a “unique, rare spirit.”
“Btw u r the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen And I’ve seen them all Then Now Always,” Stone, 67, commented on Ward’s post.
Ward, renowned for her portrayal of Meghan “Meggie” Cleary in the 1983 miniseries, has received support from fellow celebrities and encouraging fans celebrating her evolving beauty after stepping back from Hollywood.
Years after earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, she now manages a regenerative beef farm with her husband Bryan Brown in Nambucca Valley, Australia. While updating fans about the farm, she faced unwarranted criticism regarding her appearance. The couple, who also share daughter Rosie and son Joe, were accompanied by Matilda in the video.
Following her Christmas update that ignited discussions about her looks, Ward addressed the backlash on Instagram.
“Dear those who reacted to the trolls criticizing my appearance, I have tried to do a little better today. I ran my hands through my hair, etc. but anyway, just to say, do not fear aging,” she noted in a clip posted on January 15, adding that she “really should do my hair and apply some lippy before I go on social media.”
Ward shared that, contrary to popular belief, her sixties have been a “wonderful period of life.”
“I am more fulfilled than ever and I have no regrets about leaving my youth and beauty behind,” she emphasized. “I’m not youthful, but I am a very happy camper.”
Ward pointed out that aging brings wisdom and many “gifts to bestow,” which can only be appreciated as time passes.
“Don’t worry about me,” she continued. “I understand that we’re all a bit anxious about losing our youth and may resort to extreme measures to hold onto it, but it’s important to let it go.”
Ward noted, “I would crawl under a rock but feel eager to promote my new initiative @Farmthru_ where you can buy delicious regen steaks, chooks, eggs, pork, and lamb at a curbside hub in the Northern Beaches. Check it out and support farmers who balance land, animal, and your health. You’ll taste the difference.”
