Ben Higgins Hopes His Daughter Avoids Becoming a ‘Christian Robot’
Ben Higgins proudly identifies as a man of faith.
“I have unwavering faith in Jesus,” Higgins, 36, told Us Weekly while celebrating the launch of his podcast, “If You Can Hear Me,” with iHeartRadio on Tuesday, February 3. “Jesus has changed my life in ways I can’t ignore.”
In fact, it may be God’s influence that brought him to his wife, Jessica Clarke. Since their marriage in November 2021, they’ve welcomed a baby girl named Winona in February 2025.
As he looks forward to celebrating his daughter’s first birthday, Higgins is introducing her to faith in a gentle manner.
“We pray as a family, which is important to us. We believe in the power of prayer,” he shared with Us. “However, I don’t want Winona to become a ‘Christian robot.’ I want her to discover these beliefs herself rather than feeling like we coerced her. I aim for honesty.”
Higgins added, “I want to be authentic with her. I believe in a God who is alive and active, and who presents himself outside of any manipulation. So I pray for my daughter’s relationship with God and hope it nurtures kindness, joy, compassion, and fervent prayer. However, I won’t force it upon her; that’s not my approach.”
This week, the former The Bachelor celebrated the launch of his new faith-focused podcast, “If You Can Hear Me,” featuring special guest Chris Lane.
Each week, the Generous Coffee cofounder engages with individuals from diverse backgrounds, exploring what inspires them, what shapes their lives, and what brings them hope. Higgins aspires for these candid discussions to address meaningful topics like identity, loss, purpose, peace, faith, and everything in between.
“I often hear about the polarization in today’s discourse, where there’s little room for meaningful conversation on significant issues,” Higgins remarked to Us. “While this show is centered on faith, it’s designed to serve as a bridge, introducing people from all backgrounds to share their unique stories. I hope these dialogues can bring differing perspectives closer together.”
Higgins reassured listeners that he is not attempting to promote any particular belief or agenda.
Rather, his goal is to provide a space for people to engage in conversations and ask questions that often go unaddressed.
“In my faith journey, I’ve found that one of the most effective ways to communicate with God is by embracing questions,” Higgins explained. “Many of us ponder, ‘What’s right or wrong? What should I believe? God, where are you in these moments?’ These inquiries have revealed much to me, and I want to inspire my daughter, as well as my friends, to ask these questions because I believe God will respond.”
