Anne Hathaway Reveals Dress Code for Fans Attending The Devil Wears Prada 2 Screening

Anne Hathaway is clear about what she envisions fans donning while attending The Devil Wears Prada 2.

The 43-year-old actress wishes for audiences to swap their everyday movie outfits for something more sophisticated when they watch the much-anticipated sequel. “I’m hoping everybody dresses up and goes to the movies,” she shared with Vogue on Sunday, February 1.

Hathaway, reprising her role as Andrea “Andy” Sachs in this fashion-centric film, continued, “I hope people recall the joy of wearing hot pink to see Barbie. I’m encouraging everyone to put on their favorite Miranda Priestly-approved attire and simply enjoy themselves.”

While filming the sequel, she was spotted in elegant outfits, including fitted blazers, tailored pants, and a classic button-up. Hathaway also sported a semi-sheer plaid top layered over a sweetheart corset, finishing the look with a pleated skirt.

Meryl Streep has officially stepped back into Miranda Priestly’s stylish red high heels, reuniting with Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser trailer. Released on Wednesday, November 12, the trailer showcases Miranda (Streep) strutting in fashionable red stilettos while making her way through Runway magazine.

One of her standout looks so far is a stunning midnight blue dress adorned with sequins, featuring a scoop neck, cinched waist, and pleated skirt, accessorized with a silver clutch.

Meryl Streep, meanwhile, candidly told Vogue about her vision for Miranda’s wardrobe—which includes chic pants.

“Having held her position for 20 years, she has retained her style but also evolved with the times,” she quipped, “But I almost had PTSD from wearing high heels for 16 weeks. I feel like I deserve a Medal of Freedom!”

Streep, now 76, reminisced that stepping back into Miranda’s shoes after two decades felt like “going into the back of your own closet and rediscovering something, wondering, ‘Oh, I wonder if this still fits?’”

The news of The Devil Wears Prada 2 being in production came in July 2024.

Recently, the movie trailer revealed that Andy has returned to Runway magazine as a features editor, though Miranda is less than enthusiastic about seeing her former assistant again.

“Sorry, who is this? Do you know her? Do I know her?” she inquired of Stanley Tucci‘s character Nigel, who reminded her that Andy used to be “one of the Emilys,” referring to her former top assistant.

“One of the what?” Miranda retorts.

Emily Blunt also reprises her role as Emily Charlton, and when she first sees Andy in the trailer, she believes she’s experiencing a “hallucination.”

“You know what’s funny? You’ve changed. You’re much more confident,” she tells Andy, humorously adding, “Kept those eyebrows though, didn’t you?”
