Mike ‘The Situation’ Responds to Snooki’s Cancer Diagnosis

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has a message for his Jersey Shore costar Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi following her recent cancer diagnosis.

“Sending prayers full of love, support, and healing to our girl @snooki,” Sorrentino, 43, posted on X on Sunday, February 22, along with a bandaged heart emoji and a nostalgic photo featuring Snooki, 38.

On Friday, February 20, Snooki announced via TikTok that she has been diagnosed with stage I cervical cancer.

“Obviously not the news I was hoping for,” Snooki said after revealing she recently underwent a biopsy. “But also not the worst news, since they caught it so early.”

Snooki urged her followers to get annual Pap smears, which is how she learned about the cancerous cells on her cervix.

“That’s why I’m seriously telling you guys to get your Pap smears done. I’m 38 years old. I’ve been dealing with abnormal Pap smears for about three or four years now,” she shared. “Now look at me; instead of putting it off because I was scared and it hurt, I went and did it, and cancer was there, but it’s only stage I and it’s treatable.”

She explained that she had a colposcopy—a procedure used to examine abnormal tissue—and underwent a cone biopsy, which Mayo Clinic describes as the removal of a cone-shaped section of abnormal cervical tissue.

The biopsy revealed that the margins surrounding the tumor were clear and that it hadn’t spread beyond the cervix. However, Snooki noted there’s a potential for the cancer to spread throughout her body, as this type is generally more aggressive. She mentioned having a PET scan scheduled to determine if the cancer has spread.

“After that, I’ll probably get the hysterectomy because the oncologist mentioned you can choose between chemo, radiation, or a hysterectomy,” she said. “I think the smart choice is the hysterectomy. I’ll keep my ovaries, which is good, but the cervix and uterus have to go, and possibly the lymph nodes, since it can spread there. It all depends on the PET scan results.”

Despite this year “not turning out” as she wished, Snooki maintained a positive perspective.

“It could be much worse,” she expressed, inviting followers to comment on her video if they’re facing similar challenges.

Snooki—who has three kids, Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, 6, with her husband Jionni LaValle—promised to be “vulnerable” on social media, sharing updates on her health journey.

On Sunday, she shared another TikTok video expressing gratitude for the support she has received, making a heart shape with her hands while mouthing “I love you.”

“Feeling all the love you guys have shown me means THE WORLD to me,” she captioned the post, “thanks for being my besties 4ever 😭🙏🏽💕.”
