Ed Sheeran Calls Benny Blanco the ‘Best-Smelling Person’ He Knows
Ed Sheeran is stepping in to support Benny Blanco after recent concerns arose regarding Blanco’s hygiene.
Sheeran, 35, appeared with his longtime collaborator on the latest episode of Blanco’s “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast on Tuesday, March 10, and the topic quickly shifted to personal cleanliness.
“Do you shower every day?” Blanco, 38, asked Sheeran.
The “A-Team” singer replied, “Yeah, sometimes I shower twice a day. Mostly, it’s twice a day, actually.”
Sheeran continued, “I feel like I resemble you — I may look like I don’t smell great, but you actually smell the best of anyone I know.”
“I know, I smell good,” Blanco concurred, mentioning that he tends to smell pleasant even without showering.
Blanco’s friend and podcast cohost Lil Dicky (real name David Andrew Burd), along with Dicky’s wife, Kristin Batalucco, shared their thoughts on Blanco’s hygiene.
Blanco urged Batalucco to take a whiff, to which Dicky added that his friend “always has a good scent.”
The music producer faced criticism after an incident involving a fart and displaying his dirty feet during the debut episode of the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast last month.
Amid social media chatter about Blanco’s feet, his wife, Selena Gomez, posted a video of them kissing, captioned with, “I fall more and more in love with you every day, my love.”
Gomez also made a surprise cameo in the March 3 episode of the podcast, where she kissed Blanco’s bare foot.
“You like that?” Blanco asked her. Gomez playfully responded, “Don’t make it a moment.” Blanco replied, “Oh, no. I wasn’t. I liked it. It made me feel good. I love you so much.”
Blanco and Dicky, 37, addressed the social media frenzy regarding Blanco’s feet during their February 27 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“There’s something that people noticed while watching your multimedia experience. Viewers seem intrigued by the state of Benny’s feet,” host Jimmy Kimmel noted, showcasing an image of Blanco’s feet from the debut episode.
“I noticed that as well, Jimmy,” Dicky chimed in.
Blanco responded, “Hold on. First of all, it’s the facility’s fault,” referencing Dicky’s home, where the podcast was filmed.
Blanco then removed his shoes and socks to display his clean foot, declaring, “I have great feet!”
“So you’re suggesting that [Dicky’s] floors are unclean and that’s why your foot [looked dirty]?” Kimmel asked for clarification.
Dicky humorously remarked, “On that day … you know how floors get,” while Blanco added, “A few days have been dirty!”
