Hunter from Unexpected Prohibited from Staying Overnight at Bella’s House
Unexpected star Hunter Johnson has been instructed by the court not to stay overnight at his girlfriend Bella Vaughn’s residence.
As per court documents acquired by Us Weekly, Hunter’s father, Casey Johnson, petitioned for full custody of his son, now 14, in April 2025. Casey argued that Hunter’s mother, Stacie Riddle, fostered an “unstable and unwholesome environment.”
Seven months later, Casey was granted temporary joint custody of Hunter after she requested that the court dismiss his full custody claim. Additionally, in November 2025, the judge ruled that Hunter could no longer “live with” Bella, 15, and her family, nor could he stay over at their home, following his father’s petition to the court.
“Neither party shall permit the minor child to stay overnight at a romantic partner’s house,” stated the temporary custody order. (The custody dispute between the exes is still active.)

Hunter and Bella’s relationship has been highlighted in season 7 of the TLC series as they prepared for the birth of their son, Wes, who was reportedly born in March 2025. Throughout the show, the duo has dealt with conflicts arising from their respective families regarding Bella’s pregnancy and Hunter’s academic performance as they take steps toward parenthood. Their young age has also attracted media attention.
During the February premiere, Hunter disclosed that his father reacted strongly to the news of Bella’s pregnancy.
“He said I ruined my life,” Hunter mentioned in a confessional about Casey. “I don’t feel that I ruined my life.”
In response, Bella’s parents, Kris Vaughn and Falen Vaughn, expressed their views on social media regarding their daughter’s controversial pregnancy.
“I just wanted to quickly address this in a video,” Kris stated in a January TikTok post. “With all the trolls and the women being labeled as what I call the unscrewables, they are going to make season 7 exciting. It’s going to be a thrilling season. All they’re doing is turning us into the show’s main attractions, and my royalty check is going to be substantial.”
Prior to giving birth, Bella shared in a January TikTok video that her boyfriend was just 12 years old when they conceived their child. Bella noted that Hunter turned 13 shortly after conception.
“I realize it doesn’t change the situation. I know he was sexually prepared earlier than I was, and that’s acceptable, but I was ready when we were intimate,” she stated in the video. “You can all stop claiming it was illegal or that I assaulted him because it wasn’t. It was mutual. We both were intent on this, and we’ve spoken to the police about it. It was consensual.”
Bella continued, “I did not ruin Hunter’s life. When I discovered I was pregnant, I offered him a choice. I said, ‘If you can’t handle this or you’d rather not be involved, that’s fine. I understand we’re both very young, but I can manage this alone or with you. It’s your call. Whatever you decide, I’m okay with it.’ He chose to stay and support me and our baby.”
