Kim Gravel Responds to Viral QVC Shopper’s Fashion Revelation

QVC fashion designer Kim Gravel has responded to an unforgettable shopper testimonial shared during her show.

“I loved it!” Gravel, 54, expressed in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on Monday, March 16, regarding the caller’s bold fashion statement. “That’s the charm of live TV. You never know what a caller will say. Moments like that remind me why I cherish taking calls during shows. It’s all about women enjoying themselves while discussing fashion — and yes, tassels!”

Over the weekend, QVC shared a clip featuring a woman named Maryanne praising Gravel’s clothing line.

“I just wanted to let you know I got that blouse with the tassels, and I used to wear those on my pasties,” the caller remarked. “Do you know what pasties are? Yes, I had tassels on my pasties.”

During the live and unscripted interaction, QVC host Mary DeAngelis quickly stepped out of frame, likely to maintain her composure.

Gravel continued the exchange warmly, commending the shopper for her candidness.

“Maryanne, I just want to tell you: You are my emotional support diva,” Gravel stated. “You’ve completely made my day. Mary’s walked off. She’s dead on the couch. Maryanne, you’re my sister from another mister.”

DeAngelis, 50, quipped, “I’m currently undergoing therapy with Maryanne.”

Gravel, recognized as one of QVC’s leading fashion designers, has previously been honored as the network’s vendor of the year. Alongside her fashion line, Belle by Kim Gravel, she also runs the Love Who You Are beauty collection.

Her upcoming project is a digital course titled Selling With Soul. Launching Tuesday, March 17, this eight-module course will provide insights into Gravel’s strategies behind generating over $1.4 billion in live sales.

Some QVC shoppers form lasting connections with both the network’s products and its hosts. Over time, viewers have developed strong relationships with long-time hosts who excel at selling everything from fashion and beauty to food and electronics. Occasionally, some of these hosts decide […]

Selling With Soul is founded on the principle that live selling is a conversation, not a performance,” Gravel noted in a statement to Us. “When you prioritize genuine connection and foster an environment where people feel appreciated, the audience engages, and the business flourishes in an authentic and sustainable manner.”

Regarding live phone calls, Gravel previously told Us that she remains uncertain about what to expect when program hosts invite shoppers during broadcasts.

“Not only don’t I know what to expect, but QVC doesn’t either,” she explained to Us in May 2025. “It’s authentically the customer calling in, and you never know what they’ll say. They don’t inform you ahead of time, ‘She’s going to ask you about this.’ All you see on the screen is their name and location — that’s it.”
